    [01] House President - Conference - New York

    Nicosia, Aug 21 (CNA) -- Cyprus House President Spyros Kyprianou leaves for London Wednesday, and at the weekend he flies to New York to attend and address the Conference of Presiding Officers of National Parliaments, held between August 30 to 1 September.

    Kyprianou will address the New York meeting and is expected to have contacts with other parliamentary leaders on the sidelines of the three-day event.

    Nicosia, Aug 21 (CNA) -- According to the Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport, the weather forecast for Cyprus is:

    Tuesday and Wednesday: 22/8/2000 to 23/8/2000

    The weather will remain fine. The winds will be northwesterly light at night, light to moderate seabreezes in the afternoon. Temperature maximum inland (36-38 C.), minimum (21-23 C.) maximum on coasts (32-34 C.), minimum (21-23 C.).

    Outlook for Thursday 24/8/2000 to 25/8/2000

    Mainly fine on Thursday, probability of showers on Friday. No significant change in temperature is expected.

    Sea Temperature: 27°C
