[03] UN peace talks - Meetings
by Myria Antoniadou Geneva, Aug 3 (CNA) -- UN Secretary General's Special
Adviser for Cyprus Alvaro de Soto concludes today's scheduled contacts with
the Greek and Turkish Cypriot sides with a meeting this afternoon with the
leader of the Turkish Cypriot community Rauf Denktash.
On a different level, foreign envoys in the wings of the UN-led peace talks
are busy talking to both sides during their meetings in support of the UN
effort.

[04] UN peace talks - Denktash - De Soto
by Myria Antoniadou Geneva, Aug 3 (CNA) -- Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf
Denktash has claimed he is discussing seven core issues with the UN on the
basis of a document he has conveyed to the UN, whereas the international
organisation had set out four core issues for the talks it is conducting
with the Greek and Turkish Cypriot sides.
Speaking after today's meeting with UN Secretary General's Special Adviser
Alvaro de Soto, Denktash also said there has been no progress so far at
this phase of the third round of peace talks.
