    [01] Cyprus - Milosevic - International Court - Investigation

    Nicosia, Jul 26 (CNA) -- Cyprus' Finance Minister Takis Klerides has confirmed that the International Court of Justice in the Hague will extend its investigations into alleged illegal financial activity by Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic to Cyprus, among other countries.

    "I do know that the International Court is carrying out investigations to collect information on whether there are or have been any violations of the law in Cyprus," Klerides said, replying to a question.

    [02] Cyprus - Belize - Diplomatic relations

    Nicosia, Jul 26 (CNA) -- Cyprus and Belize have signed a protocol establishing diplomatic relations and expressed the desire for greater bilateral cooperation.

    The protocol was signed on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus by its Permanent Reprentative to the UN, Ambassador Sotos Zakheos, and on behalf of Belize by the country's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Stewart Warren Leslie.

    [03] Cyprus Greens - Akkuyu

    Nicosia, Jul 26 (CNA) -- Cypriot Greens describe the indefinite postponment of plans to build a nuclear power plant at Akkuyu Bay in southern Turkey as one of the most important successes of the Environmentalist Movement.

    In a press release local environmentalists claim credit for this sucess, pointing out that 20.000 signatures and letters have been sent from Cyprus to the governments of countries intending to supply Turkey with the necessary nuclear technology.
