De Soto has asked to see President Glafcos Clerides at his hotel here late this afternoon, after having a three and a half hour-long meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash in the morning. CNA/MA/MCH/2000 2235:CYPPRESS:07[07] Attorney General - Loizidou case - Resolutionby Myria Antoniadou Geneva, 25 Jul (CNA) -- Attorney General Alecos Markides described today a resolution adopted by the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers on the Titina Loizidou case as "a serious procedural step in the right direction" and expressed satisfaction for the fact that the decision was not postponed because of on-going proximity talks on Cyprus.Speaking in Geneva, where he is participating in the Cyprus team in UN-led proximity talks, Markides said the Council has no other alternative but to insist on the implementation of the decision, adding that "we should be patient and persistent".
