Nicosia, Jul 4 (CNA) --The number of travellers who visited Cyprus in May
this year increased by 16,4 per cent, compared to the corresponding month
last year, reaching 372,087 people.
According to the Department of Statistics, the number of tourists also
increased from about 273.000 to nearly 300.000. Over half of them came from
Britain.

Nicosia, Jul 4 (CNA) -- The government of the Cyprus Republic conveyed
today a letter to the United Nations outlining its position on measures the
illegal Turkish Cypriot regime has taken to curtail the movement of the UN
Peace-Keeping Forces in Cyprus (UNFICYP.
The UN on their part expressed hope that the Turkish Cypriot side takes
seriously into account the points raised in relation to the change they
brought about in the status quo on the south eastern part of the island.
