    [01] Tourism - Travel - Statistics

    Nicosia, Apr 13 (CNA) -- The number of tourists visiting Cyprus in February this year increased by nearly 20 per cent, most of whom came from the UK and Germany, according to official statistics.

    Arrivals of travellers in the same period also went up, and so did the number of residents of Cyprus returning from a trip abroad.

    [02] Foreign Minister - Cuba

    Nicosia, Apr 13 (CNA) -- Cyprus and Cuba are set to sign bilateral agreements on economic cooperation during this week's visit to Havana by Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides.

    The Cypriot minister is already in the Cuban capital to attend the G77 summit of third world leaders. His official visit will take place after the conclusion of the summit.

    Nicosia, Apr 13 (CNA) -- According to the Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport, the weather forecast for Cyprus is:

    Friday and Saturday 14/04/2000 to 15/04/2000

    Weather: Mainly fine with patch cloud. A small probability of showers over Troodos mountains.

    Wind: NW'ly to SW'ly moderate to fresh during the day NW'ly gentle during the night.

    State of Sea: Moderate during the day becoming slight overnight.

    Temperature: Maximum Temperature 24-26 Celcius Inland and 22-24 Celsius over coast.

    Minimum temperature 12 Celsius inland and 15 Celsius over coast.

    Outlook for Sunday and Monday 16/04/2000 to 17/04/2000

    Weather: On Sunday the weather will be mainly fine, but on Monday the weather will be unsettled with thundery showers especially inland and over Troodos mountains.

    Wind: E'ly to SE'ly gentle to moderate during the day NW'ly light to gentle during the night.

    State of Sea: Slight to moderate during the day becoming slight overnight.

    Temperature: Maximum Temperature 25-27 Celcius Inland and 23-25 Celsius over coast.

    Minimum temperature 13 Celsius inland and 16 Celsius over coast.

    Sea temperature: 18 C
