    [01] Grossman - Cyprus

Washington, Jan 13 (CNA) -- The US continues to support the goal of establishing a bizonal, bicommunal federation in Cyprus and expects the substantive talks, which began in New York last month, to lead to this solution.

Assistant Secretary of State Marc Grossman gave his full backing to the resumption of bicommunal contacts, which the illegal regime in the Turkish-occupied part of Cyprus halted two years ago because of the European Union stance on Cyprus' application for accession.
