New York, Dec 14 (CNA) -- The ambassadors of the five permanent
members of the UN Security Council are scheduled to meet this afternoon for
informal consultations after experts of the big five conferred Monday on a
draft resolution for renewal of the UN Peace-keeping Force in Cyprus
(UNFICYP) mandate.
Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides and members of the Greek Cypriot
delegation to the UN-led proximity talks, which wrap up today, have used
every given opportunity to outline to Security Council members their views
on the draft of this resolution.
