New York, Dec 9 (CNA) -- Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou said
here today the UN believe that the slight injury sustained by a Turkish
Cypriot and the presence of two Greek Cypriots in the buffer zone are two
unrelated incidents.
The Spokesman also said this issue is not offered for political
exploitation which Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash is trying to
achieve and refused further comment on the matter.

[02] Clinton - Gore - Cyprus

New York, Dec 9 (CNA) -- US Vice President Al Gore pledged to resolve
the Cyprus problem and give it his full attention while US President Bill
Clinton said that talks on Cyprus have begun.
In an interview to the New York Greek newspaper "Proini", Gore said he
understands the frustration on Cyprus and added "the talks are in a
delicate stage right now and I don't want to do anything that risks
upsetting them".

[03] Cyprus Stock Exchange - Trading resumes
Nicosia, Dec 9 (CNA) -- Trading resumed here Monday at the Cyprus Stock
Exchange after a three-day suspension of transactions with seventeen
companies absent from the floor.
The three-day break was decided last week in view of the introduction
of the settlement system, aimed at rendering the CSE more efficient and
flexible.
