[01] AKEL - PUM - Turkish occupation regime
Nicosia, Nov 28 (CNA) -- A delegation of left wing AKEL party was prevented
from crossing into the Turkish occupied north of the island here Sunday to
attend a conference of the Turkish Cypriot Patriotic Union Movement (PUM).
A statement issued by AKEL said the occupation regime did not allow
the delegation, which was led by its General Secretary Demetris Christofias,
to attend the conference because it insisted on checking their identities,
a move which was not accepted by AKEL.
