[01] Cyprus - Russia - Police agreement
Nicosia, Nov 16 (CNA) -- Cyprus and Russia signed today an agreement on
police cooperation aimed at upgrading, preventing and combatting crime.
The agreement was signed between Cyprus Justice and Public Order
Minister Nicos Koshis, who is on a three-day official visit to Moscow, and
Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Borisovitch Rushailo.

Nicosia, Nov 16 (CNA) -- Unbearable living conditions in the Turkish-
occupied northern part of the island has led to an exodus of what is
thought to be Turkish Cypriots from the occupied areas into the free areas
of the Republic which is taking care of their needs.
A total of 21 persons, including three families and their children,
have sought refuge in the southern coastal town of Limassol, where there is
a sizeable Turkish Cypriot community.

[03] Russia - Cyprus - Talks
Nicosia, Nov 16 (CNA) -- Russia is intending to discuss at the Security
Council the Secretary-General's invitation for proximity talks on Cyprus
and the non-reference of UN resolutions in the invitation.
The Russian position was set out here Tuesday by the country's Charge
d'Affaires Sergei Rokov after meeting Acting President, House of
Representatives President Spyros Kyprianou. He said Russia supports the
resumption of the Cyprus dialogue based on UN Security Council resolutions
and will back the Secretary-General's efforts for a settlement.
