[01] Stock Exchange - Opening
Nicosia, Oct 3 (CNA) -- The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) will open Monday
but only brokers who have completed their paperwork will be allowed to
trade on the Stock Exchange, the Board has announced.
A press release, issued Saturday night after a Board meeting, said the
remaining brokers will be allowed to trade once they finished their pending
paperwork.

[02] EU official - Visit
Nicosia, Oct 3 (CNA) -- A European Union official, dealing with
environmental issues, arrives here Monday for talks with all relevant
authorities about progress to date in harmonisation with the acquis
communautaire in the field of the environment.
Deputy Director General of the European Commission's Environment
Directorate Jean Francois Verstrynge will also aim to identify what needs
to be done in the months ahead and assess Cyprus' capacity to implement the
acquis.

[03] EU presidency - Cyprus - Turkey
Nicosia, Oct 3 (CNA) -- The Finnish presidency of the European Union
advocates "constructive engagement" in the Union's relations with Turkey in
a bid to put them in a better track.
With regard to Cyprus, the six-monthly EU rotating presidency notes
the "tragic and unnecessary division of the island" and expresses hope that
the UN will call for peace talks in the next few weeks.
