[01] Government - Cyprus peace talks
Nicosia, Sep 16 (CNA) -- A proposal submitted to the Turkish side for peace
talks on Cyprus with the participation of the five UN Security Council
permanent members and the Republic's three guarantor powers (Greece, Turkey
and Britain), has been turned down, according to information the government
has.
Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou told his daily press briefing
today he believes the proposal aimed at overcoming Turkish intransigence
and said no such proposal has been made to the Greek Cypriot side.
