Nicosia, Sep 16 (CNA) -- The Cyprus government will be represented at
tomorrow's funeral in Athens of Greek Alternate Foreign Minister Yiannos
Kranidiotis by Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides.
House of Representatives President Spyros Kyprianou will attend the
funeral in his present capacity as well as his capacity as former President
of the Republic of Cyprus. Chief negotiator for Cyprus in talks for
accession to the European Union George Vassiliou will also attend the
funeral in his capacity as former President of the Republic.
Cypriot political parties will also be represented at the funeral.

Benjing, Sep 16 (CNA) -- China will make every possible effort to help
solve the Cyprus question, in its capacity as a permanent member of the UN
Security Council, and stressed that Cyprus' independence, sovereignty and
territorial integrity should be respected.
A senior Chinese foreign ministry official also said all UN Security
Council decisions on Cyprus should be implemented and expressed his
country's full support for a Cyprus settlement through negotiations between
the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities.

Nicosia, Sep 16 (CNA) -- Two Cypriot football clubs play today against two
powerful European clubs for the first round of the UEFA Cup.
Champions Anorthosis from the Turkish-occupied town of Famagusta, play
tonight at "Antonis Papadopoulos" stadium in Larnaca against Polish Legia
Warsaw.
