Nicosia, Sep 12 (CNA) -- House President Spyros Kyprianou said the
government should respond positively to an invitation by UN Secretary-
General Kofi Annan for direct talks in autumn between the leaders of the
two sides in Cyprus, provided it does not contain any elements which might
give negative developments.
He also expressed concern that the issue of the Turkish settlers in
the Turkish occupied north of the island does not seem to be an issue of
priority during talks to solve the Cyprus problem, and said this should be
clarified.
