NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

KOTOR VAROS - Take your destiny in your hands because you have all prerequisites for better life - said last night in Kotor Varos the president of Republika Srpska /RS/ and Serbian People's Union Biljana Plavsic. "We should keep people and youth in RS, and we can do that by creating new jobs and opening of RS towards the world" - stressed president Plavsic and called assembled people to give their vote to Coalition Sloga at September's elections.

DOBOJ - The president of RS Government and Party of Independent Social- Democrats /SNSD/ Milorad Dodik said last night in Doboj that his party will fight for RS in the framework of Dayton agreement. "I reject all accusations that this party and I lead RS into unitary B&H, for what have objections those who do not know at all what does that notion mean" - said Dodik at the tribune of SNSD in DOboj and stressed that unitary B&H cannot exist.

SERBIAN SARAJEVO - The municipal board of Serbian Democratic Party of Serbian New Sarajevo has started the pre-electoral campaign by the promotion tribune in full hall of the Library in Serbian Sarajevo. At the tribune participated the candidate for the member of the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik, the candidate for vice-president of RS Mirko Sarovic, the House of Representatives of Parliamentary assembly of B&H Mirko Banjac and candidate for delegate in the National Assembly of RS Bosko Siljegovic.

SERBIAN SARAJEVO - The presidents of local electoral commissions of serbian Ilidza and Serbian Novo Sarajevo, at the meeting on August 20 with the electoral official of OSCE in Sokolac Leonard May filed the objection on the final electoral lists and required to throw out voters who were not registered in the period of registration. According to the words of the secretary of LEC of the municipality Serbian Ilidza Ljiljana Plecas, the electoral list of this municipality is burdened with 3,773, and in municipality Serbian New Sarajevo with around 4,000 such voters.

BRCKO - The candidate of the coalition of Serbian Democratic Party /SRS/ and Serbian Democratic Party for president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Nikola Poplasen stated in Brcko that radicals are ready for public talks with representatives of all Serbian parties, both before and after elections, about forming coalition government of RS. "I think that with all Serbian parties in Srpska we have meeting points, at which we can made programme orientation and operatively crate tasks in coalition government", said Poplasen at the press conference.

BRCKO - The president of SRS RS Nikola Poplasen has compared in Brcko the replacement of leadership of state agency of RS - SRNA and the decision on relocation of its seat "with burning books and written evidence in Reichstag in 30th years". At the press conference Poplasen said "that the decisions of minister of information of RS Rajko Vasic, related to the work of SRNA, identical to the decisions on replacement of directors of editors in chief of local radio and TV stations in RS".

SARAJEVO - The OSCE spokesman Nicol Schulz has confirmed at the press conference in Sarajevo that the Commission of experts for media has found out that Croatian Radio-TV /HRT/, radio Herceg-Bosna, "Kanal-S" and radio "St. John" did not behave in accordance with the Rules and regulations about media of Provisional Electoral Commission.

BANJA LUKA - The chief of the Agency for stamping out the crime, which works in UN office, Branislav Popovic has stated in Banja Luka that the realisation of the Project of skilled help to legal organs of RS is underway. At the press conference he said that the Project is being conducted in accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Security of UN, brought at July 16, which gives a mandate to the organs of international community for monitoring the work of administration of justice in the region of RS and Federation B&H.

BRUSSELS - The tomorrow's visit to Serbia and Montenegro of the former Belgian parliamentary member Zef Ulburgs has an objective to examine the terrain for mediation in Serbian-Albanian dialogue. Ulburgs is going to Serbia and Montenegro at the request of Belgium ministry of Foreign affairs and minister in charge Eric Derike, who will on the basis of this report prepare and organise its departure to FRY.

SARAJEVO - The High international representative of international community in B&H Carlos Westendorp will not demand from president of RS Government Milorad Dodik that to pass before September's elections the set of property laws, stated the spokesman of Westendorp's Office in Sarajevo Alexandra Stiglmeyer. Ms. Stiglmeyer stated for Sarajevo news "Dnevni avaz" that the ultimate deadline for adopting these laws in RS Assembly is August 31, but she noted that "in no any country in the world such a great steps are not being undertaken before the elections".

SARAJEVO - After the Decision of RS Government about dismissing the leadership of Agency SRNA and relocation of its seat, during the takeover in Pale, and because of technical problems, the minister of information Rajko Vasic has decided that the temporary seat of the agency will be in Bijeljina. The decision for bringing such decision is avoiding the longer stoppage in work of SRNA and broadcasting the information - is said in the announcement of the minister of information of RS.

BANJA LUKA - The greatest Glamoc Serbian village Pribelje and hamlet Sarajevo are in blaze, and in past two days were burned the hamlets Lasva and Travnik - said in Banja Luka the president of the Coalition Zavicaj /homeland/ Bozo Jovicic. According to him. SFOR has instigated the blaze of large scale by the artillery fire on August 12 at the polygon "the Iron Barbara" at the Glamoc field, in which completely were burned villages Prijani, Djurelici, Rajicke and Dubrave, and great part of the village Pribelje, which are at the foot of the mountain Vitorog.

SARAJEVO - The spokesman of UN Mission to B&H Alexander Ivanko has confirmed for SRNA that IPTF on August 18, during the routine control in the premises of FAMOS in Pale has found a group of tied people, who are released at the request of IPTF. "Those people stated to members of IPTF that, allegedly, they were tied already nine days", said Ivanko.

BANJA LUKA - The deputy president of the Presidency of Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ Dragan Cavic stated at the press conference in Banja Luka that "there exist serious clues that there will arise the attempt of hampering the candidature of Momcilo Krajisnik and Nikola Poplasen at next elections". Cavic said that the "Coalition Sloga, through the Ministry of Internal Affairs /MUP/ of RS and in cooperation with the international organisations, is trying to find the way of making motion with criminal charge against Mr. Krajisnik and Mr. Poplasen in order to disqualify them from the pre-electoral race".

KNEZEVO - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic officially visited Knezevo, where she visited the Timber industry "Omar" and acquainted herself with the current operating of the enterprise as well as with the future plans. "That is the work of sedulous people and enthusiasts" - said Mrs. Plavsic after visiting plants of Omar and expressed the hope that RS Government will give credits to this enterprise and by that solve life problems of 350 employees. The president of RS has concluded that the factory Omar has enough quality goods at stocks, for which should be provided the market and export, and that it depends on overall start-up of economy.

BRCKO - The president of the National Assembly of RS Petar Djokic and minister for refugees and displaced persons in Rs Government Miladin Dragicevic announced in Brcko that on Monday, August 24, will start the fragmentation of land for building 2,275 houses for accommodation of refugees and displaced persons who have decided to stay in this municipality. During talks with the members of the Presidency of the municipal organisation of the Associations of refugees and displaced persons in Brcko, minister Dragicevic stressed that the plotting will be performed at nine locations of state land, and the priority in allocation, according to the criteria determined by RS Government, besides the families of killed veterans and disabled persons will have the citizens in the edge parts of the municipality Brcko.

BRATUNAC - The regular session of municipal assembly of Bratunac was not held because 20 representatives of the Coalition for whole and democratic B&H and seven Serbian delegates did not come. Out of total 45 delegates of the municipal parliament, at session came 18 from Serbian Democratic Party and Serbian Radical Party, while from other Serbian parties the members of Socialistic Party and independent candidates did not come.
