NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SREBRENICA - The Veteran's Organisation from Srebrenica decided not to participate in work of the Srebrenica Municipal Assembly Executive Board. It was a decision made by two Serb members of the Executive Board. "The Executive Board which ignore Serb traits can not be accepted. Laws and the Republika Srpska Constitution as well as the Dayton Peace Accord are being violated by this kind of work - is said in the announcement of the Veteran's Organisation.

AMSTERDAM - The international community, trying to solve problems in B&H , wishes to change the current system of division in two parts, two entities, and instead, to try to create a united civil state, without national traits - is said in the International Crisis Group analysis. Keeping that in mind a law went into effect with the accent on a civil management, joint currency, unique flag with no national traits, but all that is not enough to overcome deep historical differences between three nations and to help in making a community as the West has in mind.

VIENNA - Danger of the Kosovo's crisis expansion on neighbouring countries on the Balkans is still not in the act, says "De Presse" from Vienna. Albania is not capable to conduct any military actions and Albanians in BJRM still do not show any sings of military tendency. However, situation in Kosovo is very difficult, keeping in mind daily terrorist actions of the so called "Liberation Army of Kosovo" against the Serbian police, jeopardising civilians.

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - The Republika Srpska (RS) President Biljana Plavsic had talks in Banjaluka with president of the International federation of Red Cross Astrid Heiberg on activities of the Red Cross in RS. Emphasising "great importance and wide spectrum of activities" of this organisation, President Plavsic said after the meeting that she was informed on problems that Red Cross has been facing with in B&H and RS.

BANJALUKA - "Policy and law" Conference will be held on July 2 in Banjaluka, organised by the Cabinet of the RS President and Conrad-Adenier. At the seminar, representatives of the RS President's Cabinet, Constitutional Court, legal experts, representatives of the RS bar association and the international community should participate.

SARAJEVO - The B&H Council of Ministers should reach an final agreement, at the session scheduled for tomorrow, on their stance at the Donors Conference in Brussels on May 7 and 8. Members of the Council of Ministers should discuss a Bill on Privatisation, done by OHR. The session will be chaired by the Council co-chairman Boro Bosic.

SARAJEVO - Chief of staff of the SFOR demining department major Peat Oldwincle stated that the RS and FB&H Army have completed 3,250 actions of demining, during which 3,481 antitank and 18,271 antipersonnel mines had been destroyed. At the pressconference in Sarajevo Oldwincle said that six persons have been killed during these operations, while 9 men have been seriously wounded and 6 have minor wounds.

BANJALUKA - President of the Serbian Party of Krajina and Posavina (SSKiP) Predrag Lazarevic condemned the SFOR action of search of Serb houses and pupils in Ozren. He called this action "occupying arbitrary, reminding him of the year of 1941". At the press-conference in Banjaluka Lazarevic said that it was about a revenge of the SFOR Nordic-Polish brigade related to the events in Derventa, and asked for their urgent removal from RS.

PRISTINA - Around 1,500 Albanians from Kosovo had demonstrated in the main street in Pristina at 12:30p.m. Demonstrators did not carry any posters nor they were shouting any slogans.

PRISTINA - Three Serbian policemen were wounded in the yesterday's attack of the Albanian's terrorists on a police station in Ponosevac near Djakovica, who are at the moment in hospital in Pristina. One of them, Djuro Stanojcic, is injured critically. Stanojcic was wounded in pelvis, urinary bladder and colon and he had been operated on, but his life is still in danger, said dr. Andrija Tomanovic from the Pristina Surgery Clinic.

NEW YORK - The Russian Ambassador to the UN Sergey Lavrov in an exclusive statement for SRNA said that the Kosovo's crisis could be solved only with the unconditional dialogue within territorial integrity of Serbia and FRY. And the international community must take a stimulative position and not punishing one. "Terrorism, foreign mediation and force by any faction must stop", said Lavrov, commenting results of the Contact Group meeting in Rome.

BANJALUKA - The Republika Srpska (RS) President Biljana Plavsic forwarded a letter to the U.S. Special Envoy for the Balkans James Perdu in which she demands an explanation of his statement for Reuters in which he says that "the RS Army is still a threat to a peace process". The letter SRNA conveys in total.

SAMAC - A letter - forwarded by 10 Serbs, detained in the Hague, has been forwarded to the RS Government for representatives of the Governmental and nongovernmental organisations to visit them - is a call for human help, stated for SRNA a member of a team of defense attorneys, a lawyer from Samac Borislav Pisarevic. The letter was sent on a request of lawyers' team which is representing Serbs suspected of war crimes, emphasising that there are no obstacles for domestic newspapers to be delivered to them, as well for organising of visits; just to make a contact with the Secretariat of the Court.

TREBINJE - The Expert team from Republic Commission for exchange of war prisoners and civilians, headed by dr. Zeljko Karan, had identified 35 Serb civilians and soldiers exhumed from mass graves on the wide region of the Konjic Municipality.

BANJALUKA - An Association of the RS judges and prosecutors has been established in Banjaluka. Mirko Dabic, judge of the RS Supreme Court is elected president and Milan Tesic, a district attorney from Bijeljina, vice- president. This association will act as voluntary, proficiently and non- party organisation, which only aim is gathering of judges and prosecutors for their professional advanced training.

PRISTINA - Clashes of the police and Albanian terrorists in the region of the Djakovica Municipality, continued today, SRNA has learned from sources close to the local police. Albanian terrorists occupied villages of Berjah, Brovina, Stubla, Sisman and Smonica, from where a part of the Albanian population moved out.

PRISTINA - Serbs and Montenegrins from Decani sent a petition to the Helsinki Board on Human Rights, the American Informative Centre in Pristina and the ICRC in which they demand for urgent releasing of 7 Serbs from camps of the Albanian terrorists. In the petition signed by 191 Serbs there are names of the kidnapped - Slobod Radosevic /1945/, Milos Radunovic /1934/, Milka Radunovic /1933/, Milovan Vlahovic /1935/, Milka Vlahovic /1933/, Dara Vujosevic /1929/ and Vukosava Vujosevic /1933/.

KRALJEVO - In the last two months many Serbian and Montenegrin families, under pressures of the Albanian terrorists, had left their homes in Kosovo and Metohija. At the moment they are with their friends and relatives in Serbia and Montenegro - is said in the review of the SRNA journalist Rajko Saric.

BELGRADE - A research fellow at the institute for the International Policy and Economy Predrag Simic said that he would find out very soon whether the FRY President Slobodan Milosevic was ready for compromise and to make concessions to Albanians from Kosovo. In the statement for SRNA he explained that something like that has not been confirmed officially in Yugoslavia, but the West expect from Belgrade to take steps in solving of the crisis.

BELGRADE - Military experts from Belgrade assesses attacks of Albanian terrorists on the FRY Army on the national border as a phase of transfer i.e. Albanians are leaving the terrorism as a way of attack, and trying to impose guerrilla war - is said in the text of the SRNA journalists Zeljko Cvijanovic and Violeta Bulatovic.

PALE - With blessing of the metropolitan of Montenegro and the Coast Amfilohije, radio station Svetigora will start to broadcast programme on June 9 - is said in the text of the SRNA journalist Zeljko Grujic.

SARAJEVO - The Republika Srpska (RS) Prime Minister Milorad Dodik had talks in Federation part of Sarajevo with chairman of the B&H Presidency Alija Izetbegovic on launching of production capacities with special interest for B&H - Iron Works Zenica, Ljubija mine and Oil Refinery Bosanski Brod, radio in Sarajevo reported. Citing announcement from the Izetbegovic's Cabinet, Radio said that a need for soon signing of an international agreement between B&H and Croatia on railroad transportation and "opening of adequate border crossings", was pointed out.

BRCKO - Commission of the RS Government for arbitrage on the IEBL in the region of Brcko, chaired by vice-premier Ostoja Kremenovic, established a programme of implementation of the Additional Arbitration decision for disputed part of the IEBL, which will be forwarded on discussion and verification to the RS Government and National Assembly. "The Commission is starting to work its regular job, and the next session should be scheduled just before session of the Republic Parliament, in order for all issues under the Commission's jurisdiction to be efficiently concluded", said Kremenovic for SRNA after the session.

BRCKO - Return of Muslims in a suburb of the city of Brcko, Klanac, will continue on May 5 - it has been decided at the meeting of representatives of displaced Serbs with President of the RS Government Ostoja Kremenovic. "Our job is to protect interests of every displaced family in Brcko, keeping in mind all regulations of the Dayton Peace Accord, including regulation on the right to return" - said after the meeting Kremenovic.

BANJALUKA - The RS Government recommended to the Administrative Committee of the RS Electrical Industry in Banjaluka that "keeping in mind financial position of economy and social situation of people", change a decision on prices increase for electric power. In the announcement , delivered to SRNA, is said that the RS Government asked for the prices of electric power to be increased for 17% for industry, households 10% and other consumers 40%.

SARAJEVO - His Holiness Serbian patriarch Mr. Pavle forwarded a letter to the archbishop vrhbosanski cardinal Vinko Puljic in which he calls on establishing of good relations between believers of both churches, radio in Sarajevo reported. Serbian patriarch says in a letter that "the war was full of unpleasantness and misunderstanding among people, what put a burden on soles of believers from both churches".
