NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - In the framework of ten days of preparations for taking over duties, Ambassadors of B&H would meet in Banja Luka the premier of Republika Srpska /RS/ Milorad Dodik and economists of RS. Tomorrow, on the eighth day of preparations, the Ambassadorial team will go to Neum, where they will, in the afternoon, hear the lecture on theme "Modern diplomacy".

PRIJEDOR - All inhabitants of Koprivna who wish to return into their original homes could do that, along with the assistance of UNHCR - stated the representative of the UNHCR Office Niels Krastberg at the yesterday's meeting with expelled residents of Koprivna in Ostra Luka. The common stand of expelled citizens of Koprivna is to return to their homes, but only in case if that settlement belong to RS. On the contrary, they consider their return as insecure because, as they stressed, personal insecurity, uncertainty of getting job, social welfare and other life matters.

DOBOJ - SFOR multinational division "North", with the seat in Tuzla, announced that NATO and SFOR will on April 3 in the region of Glamoc organise great shooting exercise. The invitations to be present at the exercise were already sent to representatives of media in RS and Federation B&H, and in Glamoc is expected the presence of representatives of governments of two entities, is said in the announcement forwarded to SRNA.

SARAJEVO - For participation on this year's International film festival "Zlatni vitez" /golden knight/, from May 24 until June 5, from RS were invited four films, all produced by Public film enterprise of RS, "SRNA- film". As SRNA learns, these are documentary film "Return to the South mountains", by Slavko Milanovic, "What is the time of the night", by Dragan Elcic, "Souvenir", by Milovan Pandurevic and "Stories from dugout", by Dragan Tepavcevic, all from last year's production of SRNA-film.

BANJA LUKA - The president of Government of Republika Srpska /RS/ Milorad Dodik stated for SRNA that the realisation of signed agreements about allocation of financial aid for RS "will put RS in substantially better situation concerning the foreign investments". The premier of Srpska, at the aerodrome in Banja Luka, after five days visit to Washington, expressed the great contentment with talks with American officials and confirmed that American Government promised significant material and political support for RS. "This visit had shown that RS is getting in world quite different status from the one that it had before" - explained premier Dodik expressing the contentment because RS will in the future have "better and different starting political position".

SARAJEVO - The visit of RS premier Milorad Dodik to Washington was very successful - assessed the spokesman of the Office of High Representative in B&H Duncan Boulivant at the press conference of international organisations in Sarajevo. "That is the positive step of the premier Dodik on getting resources for renewal of RS and solving problems with which RS is faced regarding that" - added Boulivant.

ROME - The American State Secretary Madeleine Albright stated that premier of RS Milorad Dodik "is one new wind on Balkans" and that he is decisive and ready to implement Dayton Agreement - reports Italian press agency ANSA commenting the visit of premier Dodik to U.S.A. The agency is stating that Mrs. Albright promised to RS financial aid of five million $US, and coveys the words of premier of RS that another 45 millions of $US allocated for financing some projects will come to RS later.

BIJELJINA - The vice-president of the Serbian People's Union /SNS/ Svetozar Mihajlovic announced in Bijeljina that tomorrow in the framework of preparations for Fourth session of the National Assembly of RS will be held consultative meeting of the president of Parliament of RS Dragan Kalinic with representatives of delegate Clubs. At the press conference of SNS, Mihajlovic stated that at the meeting will be talked about the date and place of holding next assembly session and arrived materials for that session.

ATHENS - The international community is greatly wrong if they think that by imposing the solution, like common flag, currency and registering plates, assure return of refugees and multi-national character of B&H - warns Greek radio 902. The radio explains that "in question is the mistake, not being informed well, or better to say, ignoring existing situation, as well as non-respecting specific interests of particular entities, i.e. lack of understanding and will for the lessons from the five year's bloody war."

SARAJEVO - The spokesman of the High international Representative Duncan Boulivant stated for SRNA in Sarajevo that division of another 100,000 unique registration plates for vehicles in RS and Federation B&H /FB&H/ started. "The registration plates will issue the Police Stations in the municipality in which the owner of the vehicle lives, and now we issued additional contingent of plates, which will be given to the smaller municipalities" - stressed Boulivant.

BANJA LUKA - The alternative government of RS will be constituted on March 2 - stated in Banja Luka its president Dubravko Prstojevic . At the press conference he appealed on RS Government urgently to train equally the members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He stressed that media in RS mostly propagate democracy in RS and FB&H, but the financial aid of international community for Serbian media is significantly lesser than for FB&H.

AMSTERDAM - The authorities of FB&H are continually attempting to do everything to thwart return of expelled population to Sarajevo - is concluded in the reports of some nongovernmental organisations which work in FB&H in cooperation with Office of High Representative of international community. In the department for return until now arrived 13,000 applications for return of real estate, but rare are those which entered into the legal procedure for right on property, is stressed in the report and warned that attempts of authorities in Sarajevo are only of declarative nature, because the courts are by months delaying and dragging on solving particular requests.
