NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president in the Presidency of B&H from Republika Srpska /RS/ Momcilo Krajisnik pointed out to U.S. president Bill Clinton that the main reason why Serbs are opposing to the unitary B&H is the fear of domination of Muslims. "I explained to Mr. Clinton that more than 90% of Serbs from RS would like unification of RS with Serbia, i.e. FR Yugoslavia just because of the fear of Muslim domination" - explained Mr. Krajisnik in the press release in Pale. Assessing the talks with U.S. president "as very useful", Krajisnik said that "Serbian party today, for the first time had opportunity to present its stance and explain that Serbs are not so black as others are presenting them in the world".

SARAJEVO - The assistant of the High international Representative for B&H Michael Schumacher, in Pale, pointed out the need of faster solving formalities and conveyed the wish of the Office of High representative that the constitutive session of the RS Parliamentary Assembly be held until the end of the year. "We would be very content if the session was held on december 27" - said Mr. Schumacher in the statement for reporters after the meeting with president of National Assembly of RS /NA RS/ Dragan Kalinic.

BIJELJINA - The presiding of the Presidency of Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ Aleksa Buha and president of Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ Nikola Poplasen signed in Bijeljina the Internal protocol on implementation of results of parliamentary elections in RS. The high representatives of SDS and SRS agreed that their delegate clubs as partners constitute the relative parliamentary majority and that in the same arrangement form the leadership of National Assembly /NA/ and Government of RS".

SARAJEVO - The Finance minister of RS Drago Simic confirmed for SRNA that in Washington was signed the Agreement with the World Bank and IMF on allocation of $US 30 millions for RS, and $US 33 millions for Federation B&H /FB&H/ for financing the structural adjustments in public finance. "The conditions under which we had got the cash resources are extremely favourable, because it is the credit approved for the period of 35 years, with the grace period of 10 years, and interest rate of 1%, for which I hope that will not be significantly increased in the following period" - explained Mr. Simic.

BELGRADE - The candidate of the left Coalition for the president of Serbia Milan Milutinovic won in the second round of voting 2,049,900 votes or 58. 66%, and candidate of SRS /radicals/ Vojislav Seselj 1,332,648 votes or 38.14% - announced in Belgrade the REC secretary Nebojsa Rodic. According to the data of REC /Republican Electoral Commission/, the turnout of voters at the second round of voting for the president of Serbia was 50.53%, which is enough for electoral results to be recognised.

BELGRADE - The chief of the Executive HQ of SRS Dragan Todorovic accused SPS that in second round of presidential elections in Serbia "they have stolen a great number of votes". At the press conference in Belgrade Todorovic rejected data in accordance with which the turnout of voters was more than 50%, and added that the percentage, regardless all thefts, could reach at most 40,33%.
