NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The government of Republika Srpska /RS/ has brought the decision by which the competent organs are obliged to, in accordance with the law and Constitution, start the criminal charges against Biljana Plavsic and her assistants, Radomir Neskovic, Predrag Ceranic, Milan Sutilovic, and others. At the session held in Pale the Government considered the issue of verifying the request for procurement the orthopaedic accessories for the war disabled persons, about what the premier Klickovic will talk tomorrow with his assistants and found the final solution.

BELGRADE - The president of RS Biljana Plavsic stated that in RS will be held the local and parliamentary elections, but she rejected the propositions to hold the presidential elections too. In the statement for BK-television Ms. Plavsic explained that the municipal elections must be held because they are anticipated by the Dayton agreement, and stressed that it is not recommendable to violate that agreement".

BELGRADE - The president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik thinks that it would be "honest if president Biljana Plavsic resign". "The presidential elections, which would be held simultaneously with parliamentary, would contribute to overcoming the crisis in RS" - assessed Krajisnik for BK-TV.

SARAJEVO - The president of RS Government Gojko Klickovic again warned that the elections will not be held in case if the control of voting lists were not done and the complaints of voters in Brcko were not accepted, and solved other blemishes in the pre-electoral procedure. In the talks with OSCE Ambassador Vladimir Kuznietsov he stressed that RS can't accept the elections, after which its destiny would be uncertain. Klickovic said that the Government will not give up of its requirements and that it will respect the decision of National assembly of RS, which gave it the mandate to decide finally about participating on the elections, reminding that RS is "for free and fair elections, but in the democratic atmosphere and normal conditions".

SRBINJE - Total municipal electoral commissions in RS, with the September 4, were communicated the final electoral lists - stated the president of /REC/) Republican electoral commission) Petko Cancar. The municipal commissions are obliged in accordance with the attached instructions timely to forward the excerpts from these lists on the formerly determined polling stations.

SARAJEVO - The president of FRY Slobodan Milosevic is interested for holding the local elections in RS, along with respecting the elementary electoral rules, upon which insists also the Government and Assembly of RS - stated the prime minister Gojko Klickovic, after the talks in Belgrade. According to him "Milosevic insists also on holding the parliamentary and presidential elections in RS, deeming that the total elections are the real opportunity to prove the democratic determination of the parties and their leaders, and check out their credibility by people".

BELGRADE - The book of the journalist Dejan Lukic "Radovan Karadzic - my defence", published by the Cultural-artistic community "Slavija" from Novi Sad, was promoted in Belgrade . The author Dejan Lukic explained that the book appeared from the modest ambition to widen at least for an inch the space for truth about events which lead towards submitting the indictment against the former president of RS Radovan Karadzic.

BRCKO - The head of the Centre of public security /CJB/ Brcko the colonel Petko Budisa confirmed that the members of SFOR last night about 20,30 h withdrew from the bridge on the Sava, the border crossing towards Croatia, leaving its securing to the MUP of RS.

BIHAC - The OSCE regional centre spokesman Luke Zaner confirmed in Bihac that the counting of votes in RS and FB&H elections will be done immediately after the finishing voting on every polling station. Zaner stressed that by new and amended electoral rules was made the significant progress, so, opposed to the last year, when the counting was done in one municipal centre, this time the electoral results will be determined on the polling station.

BILECA - The command of the Spanish brigade of SFOR warned that the incidents in Stolac are happening almost every day, despite the permanent presence of international forces, and that not any visit of Moslems pass without throwing stones by Croatian citizens on the buses. The spokesman of UNHCR Ariana Qunatier precisely stated that the return of Moslem families in this city under absolute control of Croatia is interrupted because of the security reasons, and that the second phase of return of 22 Moslem families, which has to start yesterday, is cancelled .

ZAGREB - The arch-bishop vrhbosanski Cardinal Vinko Puljic assessed that the attack on the Catholic church in Sarajevo settlement Grbavica represent "the terroristic act, with the intention to frighten the remaining Croats". "By this act they wish to enter the fear and unrest, to prevent return of those Croats who want to come back", assessed Puljic.
