NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The prime minister of Republika Srpska (RS), Gojko Klickovic, talked in Pale with the World Bank's director to B&H, Rory O'Sullivan, about a Donors' Conference which will, as was confirmed definitely, be held on May 24 nd 25. Mr Rory O'Sullivan established that RS has fulfilled all of the conditions for participating at the Donors' Conference, expressing his expectations that the planned amount of US$ 1,4 billion for the reconstruction and the economic recovery of RS and the Federation of B&H will be approved entirely, said Klickovic.

SARAJEVO - The RS minister of judiciary, Branko Petric, received in Pale in separate visits the representative of the Main Office for Human Rights at the European Council, Patrick Tuttion, the Swiss ambassador to B&H, Amadeus Bilhart, and the Swiss Ministry of Justice and Police coordinator to the Eastern Europe, Urse Schtainderger. Petric talked with Tuttion about the forming of a commission in RS on the bringing of the RS regulations into accord with the European Convention on Human Rights and the decisions of the European Court for Human Rights, which is seated in Strasbourg.

SARAJEVO - The co-chairman of the B&H Council of Ministers, Boro Bosic, and the Dutch ambassador, Valery Slighter, discussed in Pale about the further implementation of the Dayton agreement. As SRNA learns from the co- chairman's cabinet, Mr. Bosic and Mrs. Slighter also talked about the Donors' Conference scheduled to take place in Brussels on May 24 and 25th.

SARAJEVO - Tomorrow, the RS Government will hold a session in Serb Sarajevo, in other words, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Lukavica. The Information on the realisation of the Project 2 'Let's build Serb Sarajevo' will be on the agenda. The government will also discuss about the further tasks in the organising of the city administrative bodies as well as the measures for the launching of production in the municipalities of the City of Serb Sarajevo. A meeting with the leadership of Serb Sarajevo and the municipalities of the City of Serb Sarajevo is planned to be held before the session.

ZVORNIK - The commander of the SFOR Brigade stationed in the vicinity of Kalesija, US lieutenant colonel, Bob Rush, stated that the 'main task of his unit is to make possible the economic linkage of the municipalities of both entities within the zone of its responsibility'. The US officer reiterated the statement of his for several times during the meeting of representatives of the Municipal Assembly of Osmaci in RS and the Municipality of Kalesija in the FB&H, which was held at the 'Sierra 10' check point, in the close vicinity of the village of Mahala.

HAGUE - Dusan Tadic's right to a fair trial was limited, claims his defence counsel, Milan Vujin, in a Notice of Appeal against the judgment of 7 May, 1997. Mr Vujin and his assistant Nikola Kostic filed this notice of appeal to the Trial Chamber of the Hague Tribunal on the grounds of an error of law invalidating the decision and an error of fact which has occasioned a miscarriage of justice.

BELGRADE - The assistant minister of justice of the FR of Yugoslavia, Radivoje Rajackovic, assessed at a press conference in Belgrade that the return of refugees to Croatia is unfolding, thanks to the Croatian side, 'extremely difficult'. 'Some 60,000 Serb refugees from Croatia, mainly farmers, expressed their readiness to go back not conditioning the return even on the security conditions which are insisted on by the Federal Government', stated he.
