NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - Republika Srpska (RS) is not opposing the establishment of the system of payment between RS and Federation of B&H, while the system of payment between RS and FR Yugoslavia has to remain also, stated the president in the Presidency of the Dayton B&H, Momcilo Krajisnik, as a guest with the Serbian TV. He pointed out that RS has nothing against the establishment of the system of payment between the Federation and Croatia, believing that the problems concerning the passing of a law on the Central Bank and the functioning of the system of payment in the Dayton B&H, will be resolved satisfactorily.

SARAJEVO - At a session of the Presidency of the Dayton B&H, the members of the Presidency anticipated the signing of a contract on the reconstruction of the Dayton B&H, which was approved on February 7, 1977, by the Steering Board of the World Bank. The Presidency made a decision on the establishing of offices for the Presidency members, on the provisional financing of the Presidency and on the temporary location of its offices.

ZVORNIK - Personnel of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, entered Jusici, a village in the Municipality of Zvornik which is occupied by the Muslims, thus putting it under the control of the RS legal authorities, just as they did with the village of Mahala recently. Just after Serb policemen entered Jusici, the SFOR Headquarter commander in Tuzla, US general Migs Montgomery, arrived by a helicopter in the village, wishing, as he said, to get acquaint on the spot with the state of affairs and the first reactions by the Muslim inhabitants.

BIJELJINA - The RS Parliament vice-president, Nikola Poplasen, received in Bijeljina a delegations of the Serbs who fled from the Republic of the Srpska Krajina (RSK) to Western Slavonia, in the Municipality of Vukovar, and who intend to leave this area by March 16, 1997. The Serbs from Western Slavonia informed Poplasen about the problems of the Serbian people in the Sremsko- Baranjska District and the difficulties being faced in the process of reintegrating of this area into Croatia.

BIJELJINA - At a press conference of the Serbian Radical Party of Republika Srpska (SRS RS), held in Bijeljina, it was pointed out that the Party's Executive Board believes that the motives for a hunger strike by the SRS people's deputies are justified. The SRS people's deputies from Bijeljina, Mirko Blagojevic and Miko Perkovic, started the hunger strike on January 25, because of, as they said, "inhuman, immoral and illegal ejections from apartments in the Municipality of Bijeljina".

DOBOJ - In the event that the international community keeps considering historical and legal, but not political facts, Brcko will remain the Serbian town, considers the Socialist Party of RS (SP RS). While opening a parties' seminar titled 'Brcko - the strategic interest of RS", the president of the Municipal Board of SPRS in Doboj, Tihomir Gligoric, stated that 'Brcko is a mirror of the Serbian national consciousness which requires the restraining from trivial-parties' interests."

BANJALUKA - A representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Dayton B&H, Branko Dokic, warned that the taking away of Brcko from RS would be in the opposition to the Dayton agreement. He said precisely that 'Brcko cannot be an exception in regard to Drvar, Petrovac, Glamoc and Grahovo", and that the territory near the town of Brcko has to be 20 km widened, just as RS needs so to have 49% of territory and secure unhindered air transportation.

MOSTAR - Terrorists from the Croatian part of Mostar fired from the area of Franjevacki Monastery two grenade-launcher rockets at the eastern Muslim part of the city, which exploded in the vicinity of the Young People's Centre. Last night's attack occurred just a few hours after a Forum of the Croatian-Muslim Federation, at which the town of Mostar was also discussed, was concluded in Sarajevo.
