SRNA REVIEW OF EVENING NEWS, June 27, 1996Srpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) Directory - Previous Article - Next ArticleFrom: Mirjana Petrovic <almirja@cotton.vislab.olemiss.edu>SARAJEVO - The president of the Republika Srpska /RS/ Rado van Karadzic stated that the final decision about his nomination for the president of the RS on the impending elections will be brought by the General Board of the Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/, which will be chosen at the tomorrows Electoral Assembly of the Party. He had emphasised that he is ready for concessions, if the international community provide guarantees of vital impor tance for the survival and prosperity of the Republika Srpska, while warning that on contrary he will set on his nomination. SARAJEVO - The vicepresident of the SDS Slobodan Bijelic said at Pale that the members of the General Board of the Party think that they dare not step back at the pressure of the inter national community to the leadership of RS and president Radovan Karadzic. He pointed out the open intentions of the international community to find and promote marionette powers in RS which are ready to cancel even the Dayton degree of the state sovereignty of Srpska and to draw it into the unitary B&H. SARAJEVO - The president of RS and the supreme commander of armed forces Radovan Karadzic, on the occasion of the "Vidovdan" (Saint patron of Serbs on June 28th), the celebration of the Army of Republika Srpska, to its soldiers and officers sent a congrat ulations in which is said:"When I congratulated the former 'Vidovdan', I wished that next we will celebrate in peace and in our own state. The god helped to be so: we are celebrating 'Vido vdan' in peace, freedom and our state". BANJALUKA - In the House of the Army of Republika Srpska VRS started the central celebration of 'Vidovdan', the Army's Orthodox Christian celebration. The ceremony, in the presence of the highest army and state institutions, Serbian Orthodox Church and delegations of the Orthodox Churches from Greece, started with the minute of silence for the memory of fallen Serbian soldiers. After that, talked the Head of the HQ of VRS generalLt Manojlo Milovanovic. BANJALUKA - The Head of the HQ of VRS generalLt Manojlo Milovanovic, while greeting the quests at the central academy, organised at Banjaluka on the occasion of 'Vidovdan', the holy celebration if the VRS, emphasised that "the people in Srpska is celebrating 'Vidovdan' for the first time in peace and that Serbs were always fighting for the just peace, and rarely have done it in negotiations". "We don't understand this peace as quite just', he said and stressed that unjust deeds against Serbs are contin ued in the same way like in the war. "We have got RS and for the firs time in these regions we have a state", stressed Milovanovic and added that we have to continue the struggle for RS. HAGUE - The mounted seven days long trial by Hague's Tribu nal against the president Radovan Karadzic and the commander of the HQ of Serbian Army Ratko Mladic, will be related only to the second indictment, which charges them for the alleged crimes in the region of Srebrenica. To the lawyer Igor Pantelic, who is authorised by president Karadzic to attend the trial was allowed to attend only the hearing of the reading of indictment and final decisions, and the rest of the process he must spend in the public gallery. HAGUE - The Hague Tribunal is the common puppet theatre and has nothing to do with the tribunal nor the court at all - stated for SRNA the Belgrade's lawyer Igor Pantelic. "I tried, like an professional lawyer, to change the direction of the Hague Tribu nal, by using all available legal means and their rules, but evidently that they have no even the minimum of cooperativeness nor the professional relation towards such attitudes". HAGUE - The Hague Tribunal issued the indictments against the members of the Croatian Defence Council /HVO/, because, as alleged, crimes against Moslem population in the Lasva valley. Also the indictments are issued against Serbs charged for raping of Moslem's women. GENEVA - After the brutal clash of "mujahedins" with Ameri can soldiers in Saudi Arabia it is expected that the U.S. and western counties will correct the first request for extradition of president Karadzic and general Mladic to the International Tribunal for war crimes in Hague.
