BERLIN - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Radovan Karadzic collected a great number of political points by state ment that vital interests of the Serbian people and Srpska are more important than his personal interests, asserts a German media. On the occasion of the beginning of the trial against president Karadzic and general Ratko Mladic in the International Tribunal in Hague, German dayly news "Neues Deutschland" openly suggests that the reason for the hault in implementation of the civil part of the Dayton Agreement lies on another side.

PODGORICA - The president of the National Assembly of Mon tenegro /NS CG/ Novak Kilibarda, in the telegram sent to the president of RS and Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ Radovan Karad zic, expressed the belief that SDS electoral Assembly "will put in accord with the deepest interests of the Serbian people in whole, and particularly the vital problems of RS". While sending regards to the Assembly , in his name and the name NS CG, Kili barda expressed a belief that the past time, "which is for ever denoted by the blockade on the Drina river, will be significant experience, which will give direction to the cooperation of SDS and RS with Montenegro and FR Yugoslavia".

BELGRADE - The spokesman of the Democratic Party /DS/ Slobo dan Vuksanovic assessed that president of RS Radovan Karadzic by his decision not to participate the impending elections once again put the interest of the Serbian people over his own inter est. "Karadzic had many times shown that he has a feeling of responsibility for his people and its suffering", said Vuksanov ic. The DS spokesman, in the statement for SRNA, highlighted that "it was obvious that something must be sacrificed in such unfa vourable political relations for Serbs on the international scene and also in the difficult relations between the RS and FRY lead ership".

UGLJEVIK - The members of the Municipal board of the SDS /OO/ Ugljevik supported the proposal of Radovan Karadzic, despite the pressure of the international community, to nominate himself for the president of RS on the impending elections in September. At the session, held late last night, OO of Ugljevik concluded that the RS president would stay at the head of SDS.

BANJALUKA - The minister for refugees and displaced persons in the government of RS Ljubisa Vladusic confirmed at Banjaluka that not planned and not organised return of some of Moslem's refugees from Ireland in the settlements Vrbanja near Banjaluka held to the incidental situation. According to him, the RS gov ernment at the session at Banjaluka last night took the stance to make all necessary measures to cure this problem, and for its fulfilment was obliged the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry for refugees and displaced persons.

SARAJEVO - The RS Minister of Defence Milan Ninkovic as sessed that the international recognition of the RS is the basic accomplishment of the four years struggle of the Serbian people in the former B&H. In an interview for "Oslobodjenje" Ninkovic said that, despite the fact that all objectives of the defensive war were not fulfilled by Dayton agreement, the vital interests of the Serbian people were preserved. "Now the focus is of the work of the Ministry the development and legislative arrangement of the peace time concept of the Defence system, development and strengthening of the army and finding the modality of the defence system organisation", said Ninkovic.

BANJALUKA - The spokesman of the IFOR, sector southwest, colonel Paul Bruck denied at Banjaluka that multiethnic forces are testing new British weapons in the region of Glamoc. At the press conference, Bruck said that the polygons in Glamoc are used for ordinary drill, with the weapons which are in use by all IFOR troops.

MOSTAR - About four o'clock a strong explosion was heard in the cafe "San Remo", in the street of Stjepan Radic in the west ern part of Mostar, reported the Croatian radio. Police didn't reveal who stands behind the last of the series of terrorist attacks in western Mostar, only three days after local elections in that city, asserts this radio.
