[01] Prime-Minister Radu Vasile has presented governing programme
On Wednesday afternoon premier Radu Vasile presented Cabinet and governing
programme in front of the Parliament. "At the end of a prolonged politic
crisis I was honoured to request to Romania's Parliament a vote of
confidence for the new government list as well as governing programme for
1998-2000" premier Radu Vasile said. He added: "We shall do all efforts for
retrieving image and more than image people trust in government. We
consider politicians' morality as important as their competence or culture.
As we have already declared the reform of mentalities is essential.
Government whose building Sp was entrusted to me in case it would receive
vote of appointment would go on change proposing itself to speed reform in
an entirely agreement with electoral body's wish expressed during elections
from November 1996"."Government in the name of which I speak will abstain
from resorting to emergency bills generally recognizing without reservation
essential part of parliament in democracy architecture. Adoption of
solutions in a useful time comes both to parliament and government" premier
said. "Main co-ordinates of Romania foreign policy remain unchanged. This
fact has to be specified from the beginning for stressing foreign policy
continuity. Priority remains Romania integration in Euro-Atlantic politic,
economic and security structures" Radu Vasile has also declared. RADOR,

[02] Romania Parliament votes confidence in Radu Vasile Government
"According to Art.102 paragraph 3 of Romania's Constitution, Parliament
votes confidence in Government with vote of deputies and senaSors'
majority. Taking into consideration that from a total of 486 parliament
members 317 voted confidence in government which represents a majority
according to Constitution, Romanian Parliament votes confidence in
Government in accordance with programme and list which were presented by
Mr.Radu Vasile at the common meeting of the two Chambers on April 15 1998"
it is mentioned in Official report concerning result of vote of confidence

[03] New Prime-Minister's first visits
On Wednesday evening after getting vote of confidence premier Radu Vasile
left for Dragashani Valcea region where there is his father's grave. On
Thursday and Friday Radu Vasile will pay a visit to Harghita and Covasna
regions where he will meet officials of respective regional administration.

[04] PRIMA TV reporters aggressed in front of MP C.V.Tudor house
On Wednesday morning at 9:00 o'clock while taking shots near the house of
Corneliu Vadim Tudor, leader of Sreat Romania Party, PRIMA TV reporters
were aggressed by persons who came out of senator's house. Concerning this
event Capital Police head general Virgil Ardelean said on Wednesday during
a press conference that PRM leader had mentioned he could not have a normal
domestic life in conditions of an absolute security. General has also said
the case would be solved as soon as possible. RADOR, April 16
[05] Specifications concerning incident at Romanian Embassy in Bonn
Concerning investigation launched by Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) about
the incident in which some members of Romanian Embassy in Bonn were
involved ministry's spokeswoman Anda Filip has specified investigations are
at the end and conclusions are to be presented to Romanian diplomacy head
Andrei Plesu. She has also said a rapid and total renewal of entire
personnel in Bonn as well as a severe revaluation of activity of the whole
technic and administrative staff from the country and abroad were taken
