[01] Meidani asks strengthening of friendship between Albania, ItalyTIRANE, Nov 21 (ATA)-By R. Xhuvani, Albanian President Rexhep Meidani on Saturday, at a conference with representatives of Bari city, asked a concrete cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.At this conference on the role of information in the development between the two countries, organised in this city by RAI and the Bari province, Meidani stressed the joint efforts needed to build the bridge of friendship between the two coasts, through economic cooperation. Meidani made a presentation of the positive changes taking place in Albania and the region, with the end of war in Kosova and the beginning of the implementation of Stability Pact, what create a favourable environment for investments. Making evident the latest positive developments, Italian Ambassador to Albania Mario Bova dwelt on the performance of the Albanian government and institutions against crime, illegal traffics and strengthening of the rule of law. Fejzullai, The Canadian CARE- International humanitarian association has financed 17 projects worth US$ 500 000 in the district of Korce, Suzan Wotkin, coordinator of this association, told ATA today.She said eight projects have been completed and others are underway. Among the projects applied, Wotkin mentions the construction of the Women Social Centre building and rehabilitation of the National Museum of Medieval Art in Korce, projects of food aid for abandoned children and old people and other projects. For the future, Wotkin mentions the project for the rehabilitation of the "A. Z. Keko, A friendly soccer match will be played between the representative teams of Tirane and Kosove cities, as part of the activities for the National Independence Day of Albania.This was attained following contacts conducted in Tirane by leading officials of the Albanian Football Federation and a delegation of senior representatives of football from Kosova, headed by the chairman of the Soccer Federation, Rexhep Abdullahu. This also marks the first step of the beginning of cooperation between the two countries' Football Federations. Organised by the Albanian Radio television and Cultural Agency Karabash, "Golden Key" had 22 pearls of Albanian folk songs interpreted live by 40 young singers. Conceived as a concert, along with the little singers, also distinguished singers of folk songs got on the stage and were given the "Golden Disc" with the songs of the festival by the organisers. The festival was funded by UNICEF, Hotel Florida, Cultural Agency Karabash, the Soros Foundation, AEDP, etc. /lh/xh/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[05] Two schools rehabilitated in Shkoder with funds of SDR FoundationSHKODER, Nov. 21 (ata) - By M Malja: The complete rehabilitation of two schools in the city of Shkoder was completed with a fund of 50 million lek delivered by the Swiss Foundation SDR, said on Sunday the director of education of this district, Agim Shima.According to him, the fund was used to rehabilitate the eight form schools Salo Halili and Deshmoret e Prishtines in Shkoder. The reconstruction of these two schools was completed in two months by the local construction firms Kuci and Tari.
