"The investments in the three above-mentioned areas are very serious and the investors who have presented the projects, have payed as a guarantee a sum of $ 200 000 each", added Bungo. The projects which are mainly concentrated in the areas of Shkembi i Kavajes, foresee the construction of touring villages, complexes and touing hotels, sports complexes and special objects which have to do with the family tourism. 95% of the projects are presented by Albanian private investors. /lh/A.A/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[04] Panaithinaikos activates Bledar KolaTIRANE, August 10 (ATA) - By Besnok Meta: The footballer of Albanian national team, Bledar Kola, who plays in the Greek football champion with the renowned team of Athens, Panathinaikos, is greatly distinguished during the friendly football match against the Italian team of Breshas.Although Kola has played only 45 minutes, he was the main protagonist of the match, and he was the only footballer who scored a goal. Kola is now in his most perfect form and he is thought to be a guarantee for the future of Albanian national team, said Hafizi. /lh/A.A/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[05] Some 258 million dollars investments in coastal are passedTirana, August 10 (ata) - By D.Koca - The Interministerial Council of Tourism Development Policies, led by the Head Ilir Meta, approved on Tuesday 20 investments' projects on Albanian coast, told ATA the Head of the National Committee of Tourism Development Sherif Bundo.According to him the total value worth some 258 million dollars and will be invested by private companies in the coastal areas in Durres, Golem and Saranda. "The investments in the three mentioned coastal areas are serious investments and the investitures, who presented their projects, cashed to state a sum of 200 thousand dollars each", added Bundo. The projects, which are mainly concentrated in Shkembi i Kavajes area, predict the construction of touristic villages, complexes and hotels, sportive areas and special objects, dealing with the familiar tourism. From 20 presented projects 95% of the investitures of the investitures ate Albanian private ones. /lh/linda/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[06] Italy accorded 22 billion liras on Albanian agricultureTirana, August 10 (ata) - By E.Xhajanka - The implementation of the five projects aiming at development of Albanian agriculture financed by 22 billion liras by the Italian Government will start soon.Sources from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food told ATA that all the projects will start in the beginning of Autumn and there are ten months that the Albanian experts in cooperation with the Italian ones have prepared the identification of the projects. The sum that the Italian Government is offering for the Albanian Government is some 70 billion liras or 40 million dollars, while 22 billion liras are accorded for use to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food or 12,8 million dollars. In the framework of bilateral cooperation between the two countries Italy and Albania, special part covers also the agreement signed in January 1999 between the Minister of Agriculture and Food Lufter Xhuveli and Minister of Agricultural Policies Paolo De Kastro. Based upon the agreement, signed on cooperation and support of agriculture development, this fund will be used on the project on establishing regional food labs in Shkoder, Gjirokaster and Fier. The projects are part of long-term projects of the cooperation with the Italian Government and are in conformity with the development policy of Albanian agriculture. /linda/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[07] Durresi municipality fulfills foreseen investmentsDurres, August 10 (ATA) - By S.Gjordeni - Durresi Minicipality fulfilled all the investments with the funds accorded by the state budget and by its own sources, told ATA the head of Durresi municipality Arqile Goreja.Mr. Goreja said that the work in three objects, given by the Government, with an investment of some 1 million dollars supplement, has started. According to him, the municipality presented to the Ministry of Local Government and the Ministry of Public Economy and Privatization 20 ready projects, which already are waiting for financial support. There are other ready projects to receive finances marking some 7 million dollars, to be used in infrastructure, on construction of social and cultural objects. In the meeting of the Prime Minister with the heads of the local government, Durresi municipality is mentioned as a good example in implementation of the investments and preparation of other new projects. /lh/linda/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[08] Elbasan: 60 million lek fees on illegal constructionsElbasan, August 10 (ata) - By M.Lulja - 60 million lek is the total sum of the fees put by the construction police of Elbasani Prefecture on illegal construction.The construction police punished some 73 subjects having no the right to construct and suspended some 65 illegal constructions, by punishing by 60 million lek, told ATA the director of construction police of Elbasani Prefecture, Ndricim Gjini. There are some 10 000 illegal constructions in Elbasani prefecture, which are located in 43 communes of four districts of this prefecture. Some 170 illegal objects are predicted to be ruined during the coming week in Elbasani town. /dast/linda/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[09] INSTAT: Commercial deficit in June reached to 8,185 billion leksTirana, August (ATA) - By D.Koca- The commercial deficit in Albania marked some 8,185 billion leks in June 1999 and the percentage of the covering of commercial imports by the exports is some 33,9%.According to the figures taken from the Statistics Institute INSIG, the goods' export reached to 4,207 billion lek, by marking an increase of some 11,5% compared with the value marked in May and an increase of some 57, 2% compared with the value marked at the same period last year. Commercial import of the goods reached to 12,392 billion lek or some 1,1% higher than in May and some 28, 3% higher than the same period last year. According to INSTAT, the commercial import in June 1999 compared with May marked an increase of some 4,1%. The humanitarian aid to enter in June marked some 6,551 billion lek or nearly 44,4% less than the previous month. After discussion on the restructuring of the dormitories and the indispensable need to maintain a clean place, Majko promised he would go again to the student campus a month later when the campus will be filled with students for the new academic year, to see how the projects have advanced. /dast/xh/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[11] Eight people taken to hospital due to high temperatures in VloreVLORE, August 10 (ata) - By Harilla Koci: Eight people received medical treatment on Tuesday in the hospital of Vlore, complaining of different irregularities as a result of the high temperatures of this summer.This was confirmed by sources of the hospital, which added that the situation of the patients was normalized and they had left soon after receiving the necessary medical assistance. The people demanding medical aid have been of different ages, children, women and aged people. The temperature today in Vlora was 38 grade Celsius. /s.s./xh/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[12] INSTAT-June: Italy and Greece main commercial partnersTirana, August 10 (ata) - By D.Koca - 87,3% of the total commercial imports and some 91,4% of the total Albanian exports are performed in June with ten main commercial partners of Albania.According to the figures taken from INSTAT, Italy and Greece together realized some 54,8% of the total commercial import and some 80,8% of the total export in June. By comparing the figures marked in June 1999 with the ones in May, there is an increase of the exports with Greece, Macedonia, France, Germany and there is an increase of the commercial imports from Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Slovenia, USA, Macedonia and Turkey. The greatest part of the commercial exchanges continues to be covered by the countries of European Community. The commercial exports and imports from the countries of European Community mark respectively 94,6% and 77,9% of the total exports and imports. /dast/linda/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[13] Islamic Conference Organization ready to support AlbaniaTIRANE, August 10 (ata) - "Your country is a European country and as such it must be integrated in Europe especially in the economic aspect," said the Secretary General of the Islamic Conference Organization (ICO) Ezedin Al-Arakij in the meeting he had in Tirane on Tuesday with the Albanian President Rexhep Meidani.In the lead of a ICO delegation, Al-Arakij, former Premier of Morocco for seven straight years, voiced his high consideration and that of ICO countries for the role of Albania during the crisis of Kosova and the readiness of those countries to continue to support Albania also after the crisis. As the President's press office reports, Al-Arakij said that the region must be integrated into Europe and the crisis in Kosova showed that its problems can be solved only through economic development. President Meidani expressed the importance of the development of bilateral relations of Albania with the ICO member countries which are also partners in the context of the Stability Pact. "This is our open, clear and pragmatic policy," said the President of Albania. Speaking of the situation in Kosova, following the peak of the humanitarian crisis, the head of Albanian state said that "we keep being interested in and must contribute not only to the humanitarian aspect but also to the economic and institutional ones, until Kosova reaches its final status." Meidani voiced his conviction in the continuation of cooperation established during the crisis between the two countries especially in the resumption of the work in the airport of Kukes in the shortest possible time. /s.sh/xh/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[14] Government accords supplemental funds for Gjirokastra districtGjirokaster, August 10 (ata) - By Hysni Cani - The supplemental funds came in district council of Gjirokastra for the rest of the year.According to the council secretary Belur Hila, the funds are addressed mainly for water pipeline in village. Some 10.7 million leks are accorded to this directorate, and 8 million leks of them will be used on equipment and different materials, based upon the needs of the villages' water pipeline and the rest of some 2.7 million leks on completion of a water pipeline, started since last year. The Government accorded also some 500 thousand leks on urbanization studies, which for the first time will be administrated by the district council. This figure is equal with the realization of the three years taken in one (1995, 1996, 1997) or they marked some 60 million lek more compared with same period last year.According to the chief of finances' sector of this branch, Tomor Matushi, the plan exceeding is due to the daily analysis of the revenues fulfillment by each sector and in all indicators, by not underestimating any of them. The only concern for us remain the small business, Matushi said. This sector fulfilled only 75% of the incomes, while in July a deficit of some 1 million lek is marked. /dast/linda/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[16] Shkodra has twice as many investments as last year - MinisterSHKODER, August 10 (ata) - By M Malja: Shkodra has been and will remain in the centre of attention of the Albanian Government also in the future in regard to investments, said the Minister of Economic and trade Cooperation, Ermelinda Meksi in a meeting with representatives of the local government in the prefecture of Shkoder, on Tuesday.Meksi said that this year, as compared with the previous year, Shkodra has twice as many investments. In addition to 500 thousand dollars, a supplementary fund by the government delivered three months ago, Shkodra has also benefited another 500 USD from foreign donors, she explained. These funds, according to her, are being used to further improve the infrastructure, mainly to rehabilitate roads and aqueducts and in the system of electricity. The import of the group "Machineries, equipment and repair equipment" during this month covered some 21,3% of the total commercial imports. Meanwhile, the textile and shoes marked respectively by 32,3% and 21, 9% of the total export. Of great importance is also the export of the goods of "Minerals, fuel and electric energy" group, which this month covered 8% of this total. The concerts of Grapshi have been covered by the press in Warsaw. The Polish paper Voborca wrote in high consideration for the Albanian piano player stressing that she represents her country with dignity. Van Drol said that this contingent will be followed by other aid, because it is agreed with different donors of Western countries concerning this issues. Forces of the police department of that prefecture have been displaced to village Vreshtaz of the commune of Cakran, in which 1 200 narcotic plants (cannabis) have been ruined.The police operation started a month ago in the districts of Fier and Mallakaster, southwestern Albania, which have been depicted as typical zones for the raising of narcotics. The flames of the fires have spread not only in pastures and forests but also near dwelling centres, he added. On Monday, fires covered the zone of Mashkullore, in which several hectares of pastures were burnt. In Dervician, the fires have reached near the Monastery of the village, and only the intervention of the Unit of Fire Protection, this object of cult could be protected from fire. /s.sh./xh/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[24] German state to give Albanian police 1 million DMTIRANE, August 10 (ata) - Albanian Public Order Minister Spartak Poci met on Tuesday with a delegation of the German Interior Ministry led by the Assistant State Secretary Dr.Norbert Seitz, during which they talked on police cooperation between the two countries, mainly with those engaged in the fight against men-smuggling, organized crime and drug-trafficking.In the context of this cooperation, the Public Order Ministry press office said, the Albania police will be assisted by the German state this year in the amount of 1 000 000 DM. The amount is be earmarked for logistic and technical means in the police of the prefecture of Shkoder and Tirane, and for training of senior officers. Taking part in the meeting were also MAPE Mission representatives.
