Albanian Foreign Minister, Paskal Milo, payed a visit in Athens of Friday where the main focus of his discussions was the situation of emigrants in Greece. ZERI I POPULLIT, daily paper of the Socialist Party -"Rakipi negates - I know nothing about Meta". -"Milo against the violence against Albanians emigrants in Greece". -"We are the majority, we are supported by Albanian people" RILINDJE DEMOKRATIKE, daily of the Democratic Party -"Greece expatriates Albanians and opens the doors for the Serbs" -"Berisha getting better" REPUBLIKA, daily of the Albanian Republican Party -"The ministers reject Majko". -"Berisha's leg pledges DP" /A.KE/A.A/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[02] Albanian Foreign Minister meets his Greek counterpartTIRANE, July 9 (ATA) - Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paskal Milo, said during the official meeting he held with his Greek counterpart, George Papandreu, that the relations between the two countries have a multidimensional base.They (relations) decide not only the well-understanding climate between Albanian and Greece, but at the same time they affect the cooperation and stability in the whole region, added Milo. According to him the period after the conflicts in Kosove and the implementation of the Pact of Stability renders the bilateral relations on the bases of common interests and principles a necessity, and that is why the attempts to antagonize Albania with the neighboring country of Greece will not be successful. Greek Minister Papandreu said that "We hope that the relations with Albania will reach new levels on the framework of Albanian integration in the European structures." As regards the issue of Albanian emigrants, Papandreu said that "we condemn the violence exercised upon the Albanian emigrants and appeal to the Greek media to contribute through the real reflection of the events and to help cope with the negative situation created." Milo told reporters after the meeting that relations between the neighboring countries remained smooth despite concerns over deportations. Albanian Foreign Minister, Paskal Milo, had a special meeting with the Greek Premier, Kostas Simitis, who expressed once more the readiness of the government he leads to strongly help the integration process of Albania in the European family. /led/A.A/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[03] Vlore Court decides to arrest Myrteza ÇaushiTIRANE, July 9 (ATA) - By Th.Thanasi: Vlore District Court decided to arrest Myrteza Çaushi (Zani), aged 30. He is accused of the penal work of killing two persons a week ago in a bar in Vlore. This measure was issued on Wednesday in absence of the defendant, who is proclaimed a wanted person.The even happened in Vlore in a private local owned by the citizen Artur Shehu, where after a fire exchange the citizens Robert Shehu, 30, and Luan Bedini, 50, and Afrim Rami, known as Luçiano remained killed, while Arben Lala, 25, and Zani were wounded. Myrteza Çaushi was previously accused of "creation of armed gangs and different crimes committed by them" but due to the lack of proofs he was released by Tirane Court. /led/A.A/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[04] ABNA 8th Assembly starts its proceedingsDURRES, July 10 (ATA) - By E.Nepravishta: The Assembly of the Balkan News Agencies Organization (ABNA) started its proceedings on early Saturday in Durres.ABNA rotating president, Frrok Çupi, Director General of Albanian Telegraphic Agency, said in his welcome speech that this is the first inter- Balkan meeting in the regional post conflicting period, and it is a meeting of special interest because the inter-Balkan cooperation is the best cure for the crises. "There is no doubt that media representatives, and our colleagues have the great responsibility on the initiatives and positive stances towards peace and prosperity", said Çupi. According to him the aim of this organization is to contribute towards improvement of style and technology for achieving a better communication in Balkan. ABNA 8th Assembly is carrying on its proceedings. /led/A.A/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[05] A Citizen reported dead due to a heavy storm in VelipojeTIRANE, July 10 (ATA) - By M.Malja: The village of Velipoje situated 30 kilometers away from Shkoder city, was engulfed on Friday midday by a furious wind accompanied by heavy rain. The storm continued for 3 hours.Sources from Shkoder police told ATA on Saturday that a house is completely ruined due to the heavy storm, and the 32 year-old woman, Marie Biba died. "The mine clearance in border areas is thought to start soon, because this area is a real danger for the population", said Hajdaraga. Regarding the limits of this process, Defence Minister said that "this operation is thought to be over at the end of October". NATO Chief, Colonel Rafaele Campus, said that the Albanian Army will be in the first line, while NATO experts will assist Albanian army by delivering the necessary assistance with logistic means and other things. Six persons died and 25 others were wounded due to mine blasts during the last weeks. /lh/A.A/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[08] Bovilla water facility to bring 1200 lit/sec water in Tirane on July 12TIRANE, July 10 (ata) - By M Pupa: The Bovilla water facility will add some 400 other liters of water per second on Monday, bringing about a considerable improvement of the water supply for the people of Tirane in these hot summer days, said today the deputy minister of Transports and Public Works, Pellumb Vladi.Presently, Bovilla provides 800 lit/sec while on the coming Monday this amount will be as great as 12000 liters of water per second. The full capacity of the water facility is 1800 lit/sec of water, but the water pipeline network in Tirane is amortized and cannot accept a larger flow of water. According to specialists, the greater water flows may split the pipelines. /lh/xh/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[09] Saranda is port of Albania in Southern zone - MajkoSARANDA, July 10 (ata) - By Sh Hajno: Albanian Prime Minister Pandeli Majko said in a meeting in Saranda on Monday with representatives of the local government of Saranda and Delvina districts that "I have come here to share with you the vision for the coming development of Saranda."Speakers in the meeting treated some of the problems Saranda is presently facing and insisted that investments planned for Saranda especially those in the infrastructure, in the city port, the border post in Qafe Bote, the new aqueduct of the city, investments in the rural zone, etc, be unblocked. PM Majko underlined the fact that within a short period of time the Government will adopt an economic package for Sarande, which will serve the present and the future of tourism in that district. PM Majko informed those present in the meeting of the visit soon to Albania and to the district of Saranda of the Greek Prime Minister Kosta Simitis.
