[01] 48 customs house employees suspended from their job - director of Tirane Customs House released from his post -TIRANE, Oct.4 (ata) - 48 customs house employees, inspectors and lieutenant officers of the customs houses were suspended from their jobs last Sunday after an order of the newly-appointed Minister of Finance.The spokesman of the Finance Ministry said to ATA that "in the context of the measures to put into full efficiency the customs houses and the implementation of the anti-corruption anti-contraband program, the Ministry of Finances ordered on Oct.4, 1998 the suspension of 48 customs house employees, inspectors and lieutenant officers." The suspension, said the spokesman, was made for the fact that all these people were named to these posts from Sept.1 - 30, 1998, without having the compulsory test for acceptance. The suspension will continue until these people will have the test made. On the same day, said the spokesman, the director of the Tirane Customs House, Vasillaq Angjeli, was released from his post. /s.s/xh/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[02] New 8th form school in village Zall-Mner i RiTIRANE, Oct.5 (ata) - By P Shuteriqi: More than 600 pupils of village Zall Mner, displaced in the commune of Kamez after their old village was covered by the reservoir of Boville, Tirane district, will now have classes in the new 8th form school built for them.Besides, many other people from 16 different districts of Albania such as Kruje, Tropoje, Diber, Kukes, Mat, Shkoder etc., have been settled in this new dwelling area in the past years. The new school building has 16 classrooms, 2 laboratories and other premises ensuring the normal development of the didactic process and the education of the children from 6-14 years. "Good work at school, equipment and maintaininf of the new school are most important tasks that the collective of teachers and pupils have set to themselves," said to ATA on Monday Ramazan Gjuzi, director of education in Tirane district. /s.s./xh/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[03] Person who looted blocked speedboats in police commissariat of Kavaje detainedTIRANE, Oct,5 (ATA) - Police forces of Kavaje commissariat arrested last Sunday a person who, together with other people, had attacked with weapons three weeks ago the police commissariat of that district and looted from there two speedboats previously blocked by police.The spokesman of the Public Order Ministry told ATA on Sunday that the police forces of Kavaje arrested national Durim Gjoci, resident of that city, because on Sept.13, 1998, after the building of the police commissariat was rioted by armed people, together with two other people had violently looted two speedboat seized by police before. Balliu, The funds allocated for health care from the state budget have been misappropriated by the municipalities and communes in the Librazhd district.Sami Agolli, head of public health in this district told ATA that checks in several town-halls and communes have shown that the funds allocated to public health have been misappropriated. Luto,Albanian Prime Minister Pandeli Majko on Monday morning had a working meeting at the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "Considering the latest developments in the region, diplomacy will be one of the priorities of the programme of the newly-formed government," said Majko at the meeting, which followed the agenda of planned visits by the new Prime Minister, which began on Saturday with the Ministry of Order, Defence and Finance. "The programme of the new Government stipulates the same priorities in the diplomatic relations with the most powerful international factors, in which the relations with the U.S. occupy a significant place," said Majko. "In the context of cooperation with the integrating European and Euro- Atlantic structures, the relations with NATO and EU will occupy a very important place, with the stress being laid on cooperation with neighbors, Greece and Italy, and with the Bonn government. Prime Minister Majko stressed the Foreign Ministry should reconsider its position towards the Islamic Conference. "Albania should follow a pragmatic policy in its own interest and the good regional relations, the Moslem belief should not turn this mature stand of the Albanian government in the opposite direction." The new government headed by Majko was decreed on Friday by the President of the Republic of Albania, Meidani, and today is expected to be sworn in. /y.pa/lm/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[07] Remains found in Volljake might be those of Albanian victimsPRISHTINE, Oct.5 (ata) - LDK sources in village Sverke of Gash, near the bauxite mine in Volljake, have reports that the four bodies, which, according to Serb propaganda, were recovered in that mine, belong to the Albanians killed by Serb military-police forces and they have been taken from village Grabanice.As Kosove Information Centre reports, on May 18 Arben Krasniqi, another Albanian named Xhezair and two other unidentified Albanians, were killed in village Grabanice. They were buried in Grabanice, near the bridge on River Drin i Bardhe. The same sources said that Serb forces had unearthed later the victims and reburied them in the mine of Volljak, while people of the village told that two days before, some Serb soldiers asked for some plastic bags in the village, string and other means. Some time ago, after the arrival of Serb forces in Klecke and Glloxhan, two places with KLA bases, Serb police and propaganda spoke for the existence of an alleged crematorium in Klecke where, according to them, Serbs were burnt, and of massive Serb graves in Glloxhan, KIC stated. It also added that so far Serb police and experts have not made public any names of children or Serbs burnt in Klecke, while the identification of the victims in Glloxhan has proved that most of the bodies were those of killed Albanians. /p.ta/xh/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[08] Foreign bank affiliation in DurresDURRES, Oct 5 (ATA) By S.Gjordeni A Greek National Bank affiliation will begin operation in Durres on November the 1st, following the one opened in Tirana earlier."The affiliation, located on the first floor of a six-storied building at the city's boulevard, will have a twelve-member personnel, mainly Albanians," said G. Dhoullopullos, manager of the affiliation. The affiliation will serve the Durres traders and other individuals quickly and in a qualitative way. Meanwhile, preparations to open an Italian-Albanian bank affiliation in Durres are underway. /s.sh./lola/lm/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[09] KLA spokesman on NATO warnings to SerbiaPRISHTINE, Oct.5 (ata) - ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports: "This is the most serious threat made so far, and which we wish to become a reality, " declared the Kosove Liberation Army spokesman, Jakup Krasniqi, referring to warnings by the international community and NATO for military intervention against Serbia. "We shall offer assistance, if this is demanded from us, to every international mechanism which comes here with the good will," said the KLA spokesman in an interview with the Albanian paper of Kosove, Bujku. Speaking of the situation in the field, Krasniqi said that "Serb forces have not withdrawn according to requests by the Security Council," and that they "continue to be deployed across Kosove."The enemy has deployed in Kosove thousands of soldiers, policemen, paramilitaries and foreign mercenaries, and a war machine with more than 1000 tanks, transporters and armoured vehicles and other mechanized means. It has used the aviation, missiles, war poisons, heavy cannons, etc," declared Krasniqi. With regard to appeals of Serb government members that Albanians must hand in their weapons, Krasniqi said: "The people have no weapons. The KLA has the weapons." /pas/xh/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[10] SP chairman of Deshiran village killed in ElbasanTIRANA, Oct 5 (ATA)-The chairman of the Socialist Party of the Deshiran village, Elbasan district, was killed on Sunday evening for still unknown motives.Citizen Bajram Cerriku, age 38, was killed by gunfire in a quarrel at 21.00. The killer, Resul Halili, 31, was arrested shortly after the incident. /pas/lm/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[11] Tense situation and reinforcements in Serb police stations in PodujevePRISHTINE, Oct.5 (ata) - Reports from Podujeve say that the situation in that commune remains tense, while most of the residents have left the warring zones and cannot resettle in their homes because of possible resumption of Serb attacks, the Kosove Information Centre (KIC) reports.The LDK branch sources in Podujeve report that reinforcements have reached the Serb police stations in Orllan, Lluzhan and Kerpimeh, while other fortifications are being made roud the police roadblock in the entrance of the city. So far, there are no signs of withdrawal of Serb police and military forces towards Serbia. The killer, Resul Halili, 31, was arrested shortly after the incident. /pas/lm/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[13] Bodies of two Albanians burnt in SuharekePRISHTINE, Oct 5 (ATA)-The bodies of two Albanians were burnt in a house of Vraniq village of Suhareke on Saturday, the Kosova Information Centre reports, referring to the LDK branch in Suhareke.The burnt bodies are thought to be Ymri and Selfije Palushi, who, according to witnesses, had been massacred by the Serbian police on another site earlier and brought later to the house of the Raci family, which was set on fire. The Serb police have arrested at least 80 people and burnt 250 houses in Vraniq, while in Bukosh there are only seven houses left. A stricter control will be applied not only on the locally produced food articles but also on those from the import. The law determines the norms and criteria that the producers of this food must follow so that the livestock be not affected by diseases and the standards for consumers be preserved.A special place in the draft law also takes the guarantee for the use of food and the protection of the interests of the producers and users of livestock food, the illegal trade and rivalry. In this context, Mr Cupi mentioned the transmission capacity of ATA, which, through its reports creates a broad space of information for local and foreign medias. "ATA has agreements of cooperation almost with all prestigious news agencies of the world," said Mr Cupi. "The information for the reporters has been accompanied with a qualitative photo service, and we are also working so that video service be installed as well in the coming year," Mr Cupi added. Prime Minister Majko, after congratulating ATA workers, said that ATA, as an official news agency, must work to make a worthy presentation of Albania and Albanians in the world. "One of the priorities of the government I head is also the development of all medias in Albania, considering this a significant link of public information," said Majko. The Ministry of Information has been created to this end, he added. Minister of Information Musa Ulqini said that with the creation of this new institution, we intend to create a communication centre with the government. /s.s/xh/lm/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[17] Agr.-food industry mostly developed in ShkoderSHKODER, Oct 5 (ATA) By M.MalajAgr.-food industry is one of the mostly developed in Shkoder district. "The processing of agriculture and livestock products is carried out by over 40 enterprises with domestic and foreign capital," said Guri Beshi, head of local Agriculture Department. "These enterprises produce sausages, dairy, different alcoholic drinks, macaroni and tomato sauce. They use contemporary technology and guarantee the quality of the product. For this reason they are also demanded by other district markets," he added. The expansion of the local agr.-food enterprises is a result of the increase of the agriculture and livestock's productions. In comparison with 1990 these productions from 1995 and on have recorded an increase of 3 to 4 times. Some 1 000 people, with salaries 7 000-10 000 leks per month, are employed in this industry. "The number of the employees in these enterprises must be bigger, but some owners, in order not to pay fiscal obligations, do not declare the exact number," Bardhosh Shaqiri, secretary of the Municipality said. /s.sh./ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[18] Tirana teachers say "No" to trade union's call for strikeTIRANA, Oct 5 (ATA)-By P. Shuteriqi, Classes continued normally today in Tirana, despite warning of a one-day strike by the teachers' Trade Union.Teaching developed normally on Monday in the capital's 74 eight-year and secondary schools, Kujtim Kapllani, head of education department for Tirana, said today. Except three-four teachers in some schools, mostly in secondary schools, all teachers were on duty, said Kapllani. Thus, he said, "reports on staging a general one-day strike for the pre-university education in the capital proved to be false." "The few teachers who suspended teaching classes will not be paid for this day and in case they repeat this error other administrative measures will be taken, conform the laws," said Kapllani, who considered their strike unauthorized, as no trade union representative has shown up at the Tirana Education department for talks or permission to stage it. Cela is accused of crimes against humanity by the Military Prosecutor's Office.In today's session, the court heard the objections of the military attorneys, who, on the bases of the evidences they had, asked again not to change his previous arrest order, while the lawyers asked to change it to home arrest. ÇANI During the last three days 200 Albanian citizens who had regular visas were not allowed to enter Greece. According to the Greece customs house, this measure is taken, because they had been informed by Interpol that a considerable amount of pasports of 03 and 08 series are false productions of a weastern country. The Greece customs house sources, said to ATA that they had been informed 2 days ago by an Interpol agent, according to whom there are some hundreds and thousands of fake pasportes that have entered Albania. The Director of the regional Policy, Colonel Spartak Guma, told ATA that "no one has come so far to denounce any false passport." Meanwhile Colonel Guma accepts of being informed on the existence of this problem and confirms that work is being carried out to issue an official version regarding this matter. /dast/A.A/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[25] Minister of Finances to take part in annual meeting of IMFTIRANA, Oct. 5 (ATA) - By D.
