  • [01] PRIVATE SUBJECTS REJECT BUYING GOODS OUTSIDE THE DISTRICT - Berat

BERAT, JAN. 4 (ATA) - By I. Manka: The presidents of different producing and commercial companies in Berat have rejected the tendency of several state bodies of the district to buy goods outside the district.

Thus, the majority part of the state bodies, beginning from the prefecture, the district council and the town hall, bought the furniture for their offices outside the district, explains the owner of a carpentry in the town.

The invoices of buying that the state bodies made outside Berat at the end of 1997, pass the amount of 30 million leks. Due to this, the local finances, such as taxes and levies, have lost 6.3 million leks.

One of the financial experts of taxes, commenting this fact, confesses that the taxes have passed to the state budget, but we as finance will consider it non realization. Only the town hall of Berat, due to the non collection of the 1% tariff will not cash at least 300 000 leks. /kled/mt/sh/

[05] TELEPHONE CONNECTION WITH 13 DISTRICTS OF THE COUNTRY - EMERGENCY

TIRANA, JAN. 4 (ATA) - By S. Sharrexhi: The telephonic reconnection with 13 districts of the country is one of the priorities of the Albanian Telecom at the beginning of 1998, its general director Dhimiter Rafti reported to ATA.

"We have spent one million dollars to provide the connection through the radio-relay system, because the cable system is out of use," said Rafti.

The telephone connection was interrupted in the districts of Sarande, Mirdite, Peshkopi, Bulqize, etc, due to the riots that swept the country in March last year.

The telephone connection of the Albanian Telecom with the European system of Telecommunication will finish within January.

"This connection, which has been made previously by radio, will have an advantage now, the increase of the capacity of conversations," said the Director General. /s.sh/kei/mt/k
