    [03] PEACE IN VLORE DISTURBED

VLORE, AUGUST 7 (ATA) - By H Koci: In the morning hours today tranquillity in the city of Vlore was disturbed by two or three incidents, which fortunately were missing for a few days in that city.

In the vicinity of the place called "Factory of rice" as a result of an exchange of gunfire, one person, whose name is not confirmed, was wounded.

Forces of police came to the spot with armoured vehicles, but they could not catch the authors of the incident.

The same police forces, a few moments later, saw a Saurel vehicle which had some people on it, armed with different weapons. The vehicle left quickly towards the city centre followed by police forces and in a few minutes the people present left in panic, but the vehicle could escape the police.

These events are not confirmed by official sources of local police, whose forces are patrolling the city streets for some days now. The presence of armoured vehicles has not yet dismissed the fear among Vlore people.

It is several days since forces of the city police have been restructured in three commissariats, with one police department, whose chief is Milto Kordha. The reorganization promises for a fiercer fight against crime in the coming days.ake/xh
