ATHENS - For the Republika Srpska (RS) is very useful to have a friend in Europe such as Germany, it is a statement of the RS President Biljana Plavsic after she had talks with a German Foreign Affairs Minister Klaus Kinkel in Banjaluka - conveys Greek media. The return visit of the German Foreign Affairs Minister Greek media assesses as another gesture of a full support of Bonn to the new RS Government and its prime Minister Milorad Dodik.

GENEVA - The West has welcomed the new RS Government and hopes that it would consistently implement all regulations of the Dayton Accord especially those regarding return of refugees and obligations to War Crimes Tribunal in Hague, it is observed in the UN in Geneva. So it is not surprising that after a relatively peace period, western media are paying great attention to the current political situation in RS and especially to the implementation of the Dayton Accord.

SARAJEVO - A protest meeting of citizens of Srpsko Sarajevo because of recent Goran Vasic's arrest in Dobrinja, was not held but the organiser announced continuation of gathering every day until Vasic was turned over to the RS authorities. From this meeting a letter has been sent to the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for B&H Elizabeth Rehn, Deputy High International Representative Jacques Klein, the SFOR Commander Eric Shinceky and the IPTF headquarters in which thet are demanding for Vasic to be turned over to the authoroties of RS.

BIJELJINA - The president of the Municipal Assembly Dragomir Savic had talks in Bijeljina with the Deputy High International Representative for B&H Jacques Klein about solving economic and social problems in this part of Semberija. After the meeting Savic stated that " people must not be afraid of moving out and economic poverty".

NOVI SAD - A goal of the new Serbian government must be strengthening ties of this Republic and FR Yugoslavia (FRY) with RS, assessed in Novi Sad a federal representative and the president of the Assembly of the Reform Democratic Party in Vojvodina (RDSV) Miodrag Isakov. " RDSV is also for implementation of the Dayton Accord, for independence of RS and for deepening of ties between RS and FRY" - said Isakov.
