NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - At the session of the Presidency of B&H in the National Museum in Sarajevo, will be talked about establishing the diplomatic relations between B&H and FR Yugoslavia /FRY/ and double citizenship of B&H and FRY. As confirmed for SRNA in the Cabinet of president in the Presidency of B&H from Republika Srpska /RS/, the Presidency should consider also the foreign policy platform of B&H as well as the budget of common organs. By the protocol is anticipated that the members of Presidency at the beginning of session receive newly appointed Ambassadors of B&H.

BRCKO - The deputy High Representative of international community for B&H Jacques Klein qualified as "amazing" the progress realised in development of democratic processes in the region of Brcko, in RS, and expressed the hope that the Award of Arbitrage Tribunal will be just. According to him, "RS has got a cooperative government and I think that in future there will be no unequal allocation of international financial aid between two entities. If we want B&H, then RS must be, in its rights, equal part, which was not the case to date".

BANJA LUKA - The Government of Republika Srpska /RS/ will propose to the National Assembly to adopt urgently the Law on amending the Law on Supreme Court of RS, by which the seat of the court would be relocated to Banja Luka - announced today the minister of Justice Petko Cancar. In the special statement for SRNA Cancar stated that there are more reasons for that, stating that "more than half of judges practically work in Banja Luka, while only one part in inadequate premises in Pale". "The Supreme Court should be unified on one place", said Cancar, stressing that in Banja Luka there are good conditions for efficaciousness of this institution, skilled staff, material and technical conditions, housing solutions and other issues important for normal work of the court.

SARAJEVO - The presiding of the Presidency of Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ Aleksa Buha stated for SRNA that SDS and Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ "by the force of pressure" went into opposition and announced persistent struggle for return of the national-democratic line in power at the September elections. In the statement, which conveyed Radio Serbian Sarajevo, Buha expressed the expectations that SDS and SRS will win at those elections and form the government again, and afterwards, as he noted, call upon the opposition to respect the minimum of national interest. Buha sent critics to the leading state media which, as he stressed, "by the will of the minority Government deprive SDS and SRS of the contact with public", although "60% of the national confidence was given to those parties on the level of Republics, and 80% on the municipal level".

SARAJEVO - The spokesman of the Office of High representative for civil affairs /OHR/ Simon Haselock presented at the press conference in Sarajevo the letter of the deputy High Representative Hans Schumacher in which is stated that particular police stations realise profit during selling registering plates. In the letter sent to the Council of Ministers of B&H and ministers of Internal Affairs of RS and FB&H Schumacher stated that "the basic tax amounting 50 to 120 German Marks is levied, which is not in accordance with Bonn document and Memorandum on understanding signed by premiers of governments of RS and FB&H and Council of Ministers of B&H". According to OHR spokesman, payments of the vehicle owners must not pass over the expenditures of production of registration plates - 15 German Marks, in two first months.

BANJA LUKA - The IPTF spokesman for the region Bihac and Banja Luka Aloun Roberts expressed great worry because of continuation of arson of Serbian houses in Drvar and accused Croatian local police that by its obstructions contribute to this act as well as for harassment of Serbs returnees. At the press conference in Banja Luka he stressed that such behaviour directly hinders the implementation of Dayton Agreement, and process of return of refugees .into this city. Roberts said that six days ago, unknown perpetrators, burned down Serbian house in the settlement Mlinski put, and on February 13 the house in the village Prnjavar, as well as another one in the village Sipoljani.

BANJA LUKA - The secretary general of the Party of Independent Social- Democrats Nenad Bastinac positively assessed the results of more days visit of the delegation of parties of social-democratic orientation from RS and Federation B&H to France and Germany. "In talks with the representatives of parties of the same political orientation in Germany and France we reached the high degree of accordance about the same open issues in RS and FB&H, i. e. B&H", said Bastinac at the press conference in Banja Luka. According to him, the high level of accordance was reached also in the issues of cooperation between parties from RS with Social-Democratic Parties of Germany and France.

BANJA LUKA - The president of the alternative government of RS Dubravko Prstojevic assessed at the press conference in Banja Luka that the visit of the German chief of diplomacy Klaus Kinkel to RS represent "German recognition of RS as the state". Prstojevic assessed Kinkel's statement about "postponement of making Arbitrage Award about Brcko" as "personal stance", which, as he said, "alternative government of RS do not accept". "The only objective of this government is giving constructive proposals and suggestions to existing Government of premier Milorad Dodik, and to be 'crying shoulder for Serbian people'", said Prstojevic.

AMSTERDAM - Two Serbs from Samac Milan Simic and Miroslav Tadic, who voluntarily surrendered to the Hague Tribunal on Saturday, February 14, will appear at the initiate hearing before the Hague Court. On that occasion, "Folkstrandt" writes concluding that their surrendering represent the combined victory of diplomacy and Hague Tribunal, but also a reward for their persistence.

HAMBURG - The voluntary surrendering of Miroslav Tadic and Milan Simic to the Hague Tribunal the leading German news assess as "the gesture for praising", accentuating their statements that they have decided to do so in order to prove their innocence. The conservative "Welt" thinks that Tadic's and Simic's voluntary departure to Hague before the Tribunal motivated by shaky evidence. That relates, as the news writes, particularly on the case of Tadic, where must be counted the releasing verdict, because from his indictment is clearly seen that there are no any criminal act.

BELGRADE - The minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers of B&H Jadranko Prlic stated in an interview for Belgrade's "Blic" that the decision about withdrawal of the accusation for aggression of FRY on B&H, which was submitted to International Court in Hague, depends on presiding in the Presidency of B&H Alija Izetbegovic. "At the last session of the Presidency of B&H, Momcilo Krajisnik backed withdrawal of the accusation, while Kresimir Zubak said that he never saw such accusation. Consequently, it is clear that the withdrawal of the accusation depends on Alija Izetbegovic", explained Prlic.
