BANJALUKA - Republika Srpska (RS) president Biljana Plavsic, talked in
Banjaluka with representatives of the Serbian Humanitarian Fund (SHF) from
Frankfurt and the other Associations of Serbs from Germany on the
participation of Diaspora Serbs in the economic revitalisation of RS and in
the offering of help to the needed. After the meeting, the SHF secretary,
Vidomir Kojic, stated that it was agreed that scholarships for the children
of the deceased soldiers will be provided by the way of the opening of
exchange accounts in the Banjaluka Bank.
ZAGREB - The chairman of the Croatian Helsinki Board, Ivan Zvonimir Cicak,
submitted the documentation to The Hague Tribunal showing that during the
'Storm' and 'Lightening' operations, the Croatian Army killed more than 5,
000 Serb civilians, writes the paper 'Vecernje Novosti'. The documents,
which were presented to the Tribunal, say that in an attempt to cover up
the crimes the Croatian authorities relocated Serb mass graves, but the
Croatian Helsinki Board succeeded in finding the same.
HAMBURG - The propaganda shots made by the ATN TV station showing the
refugee centre 'Trnopolje' as a Balkans Holocaust, were the direct cause
for the USA to take an anti-Serb position just a few days later, George
Kenny, who in August 1992 resigned at the post in the State Department in
the protest because of the US policy in the former B&H and who is now one
of the best analysts of the US foreign policy, stated for the German
magazine 'Nuovo'.
BELGRADE - The head of the Democratic Party, Zoran Djindjic, announced that
during his visit to Sweden and Holland he is going to talk with the
diplomacy chiefs and ministers for the development of the above countries
on the possibilities for the improvement of cooperation and assistance to
the FR of Yugoslavia. At a press conference held in the Belgrade Assembly,
Djindjic announced that he will leave for Sweden and Holland on March 31,
and that on April 4, the 'Zajedno' [Together] coalition leaders are
expected to meet with the US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright.
BELGRADE - The Serbian Radical Party (SRS) asked the authorities that all
offenders on Kosovo be brought to face justice, while the state bodies of
Serbia and FR Yugoslavia are to assure peace and security to the Serbs and
the other citizens in Kosovo and Metohia. "The authorities have to halt
terroristic attacks by the Albanian secessionists who are some sort of a
self-styled Kosovo liberation army, allegedly, in charge of the creation of
the independency of this part of Serbia', says an announcement issued by
the SRS.
MOSCOW - Practically, Moscow has reconciled to the NATO eastern expansion
and now wants to achieve this with the least damage possible to its
interests, claim Russian analysts, assessing this to be also the reason for
today's German foreign minister, Yevgeny Primakov's visit to Germany. The
Russian minister is due to meet again with the NATO secretary-general,
Javier Solana, in order to, in accordance with the Helsinki agreement
reached between Boris Yeltsin and Bill Clinton, prepare a document on the
relations between Russia and NATO.
