SARAJEVO - The minister of transport and telecommunications of Republika Srpska (RS), Nedeljko Lajic and representative of the "Holding Cajavec" Company from Banjaluka, talked in Pale with representatives of the Korean firm "Samsung" on cooperation and reconstruction of the RS telecommunications system. Deputy minister for transport and telecommunications, Dragan Pejanovic, said the two firms signed an agreement resulted from one-year negotiations.

SARAJEVO - The RS vice-premier for economy and finances, Djuradj Banjac, talked last night in Pale with representatives of the Bulgarian "Kompakt" Company on economic cooperation between RS and Bulgaria in sector of metallurgy and energy.

BANJALUKA - The president of the Serbian Patriotic Party for RS (SPAS RS), Slavko Zupljanin, stated at a press conference in Banjaluka that the decision of the Arbitration Commission over the Inter-entity Boundary Line in the Brcko Area is not consistent with the Dayton agreement. "In stead of declaring the present line of separation in the Brcko area the border between the RS and Federation of B-H, Mr. Roberts Owens introduced a new institution of supervision to the detriment of the Serbian side, and such as solution is not predicted by any international agreement on the Dayton B- H", stated Zupljanin.

BEOGRAD - The spokesman of the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO), Ivan Kovacevic, assessed that "the first phase of struggle for change of authority is over". "Now the representatives of the ruling party and opposition should discuss media 'opening' and setting an equitable electoral conditions", stated the SPO spokesman, and added that this is a transitional phase in struggle for power. "The exercise of authority in cities is very difficult because the regime is already blocking the local administration", stated Kovacevic and announced linking of the cities administered by the Coalition "Together".

VUKOVAR - The president of the Executive Board of the Serb District of Eastern Slavonija, Baranja and Western Srem, Vojislav Stanimirovic, talked in Vukovar with UN special rapporteur for human rights, Elizabeth Rehn, on Croatian proposal about the organisation of the territory after UNTAES leaves. Elizabeth Rehn pointed out that "the international community must guarantee security to people who which to stay in the District. "

VUKOVAR - The president of the Executive Council of the Serb District of Eastern Slavonija, Baranja and Western Srem, Vojislav Stanimirovic, stated after yesterday's with Croatian president Franjo Tudjman, held in Zagreb, that a final result of Serb demands for territorial reorganisation of the municipalities would be known in a few next days. According to him, the Serb delegation stated its position that "Serb parish would be the best solution, but in the case that it is not considered appropriate by Croatia or by the international community, the community of Serb municipalities could be the option".

BEOGRAD - The president of the Executive Board of the Serb District of Eastern Slavonija, Baranja and Western Srem, Vojislav Stanimirovic, stated for SRNA that the departure of Serbs from the District would continue if the Serb territory does not stay compact. "In condition of divided territory, the residents will not feel safe", stated Stanimirovic after talks with Croatian president, Franjo Tudjman.
