ZVORNIK - The president from Republika Srpska (RS) in the Presidency of the Dayton B&H, Momcilo Krajisnik, expressed his pleasure with the previous work of this body. In an interview for the Zvornik paper 'Glas Srpski', he said that the joint bodies are working on the principles of partnership and equality.

ROME - Under-secretary of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pierro Fasino, confirmed that a final decision of the International Arbitration Commission on the inter-entity boundary line in the area of Brcko will be announced in the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Rome on February 14. Fasino stressed that the decision will be announced by the presiding arbitrator, Robert Owen, in the presence of the High Representative, Carl Bildt and the Contact Group members for the Dayton B&H, who will afterwards leave for RS and the Federation of B&H so to explain their decision to the authorities of the two entities.

BANJALUKA - The assistant minister of education, science and culture of Republika Srpska, Zlatko Kelecevic, and the representatives of the enterprises of 'Gunis', Extra-R' and 'DGP Rad', Borislav Savanovic, Miro Asentic and Vitomir Tosic, respectively, signed in Banjaluka the first US $ 500,000 contract on an urgent reconstruction of the school system in RS. These three enterprises will be developers, while the urgent reconstruction of the schooling system is planned in one of the World Bank's programmes.

PARIS - The dispatching of 1 300 German SFOR troops to Sarajevo represents the world premiere for Bundeswehr because for the first time after they were defeated in the WWII, Germans are finding themselves outside their state borders with a permission to shoot, writes the Paris 'Liberation'. According to this paper, once after German soldiers are disposed in the Muslim part of Sarajevo, this area will completely represent a German sector, because only 730 French legionnaires will stay there.

DOBOJ - Due to the incident that occurred on February 12, somewhere between the towns of Modrica and Odzak, in which a police patrol of the Federation of B&H (F B&H) wounded a Serb civilian, the Doboj Police Station sent a letter of protest to the SFOR Nordic-Polish Brigade Command in Doboj and IPTF. The letter says that at about 24:00 hrs, on the above date, from a police car of the F B&H fire was opened at a vehicle with licence plates DO 57-28, thus seriously wounding Branko Knezevic.

DOBOJ - The SFOR Nordic-Polish Brigade Command and the OSCE Office in Doboj will do their utmost so that an action of the Commission on searching for missing persons from RS on the Ozren- Vozuca area be completely successful, this was stated at a press conference held in Doboj.

AMSTERDAM - In a commentary titled 'Mostar Is The Weakest Ring in a Chain', the paper Volkeskrant writes that even a year an a half after the war, a curfew was reimposed in the city, this confirming that all efforts on the unification of Mostar were in vain. "The official authorities are fearing that armed conflicts could easily be renewed, while a ban on movement shows that relations between the eastern and western part of the city are extremely worsened", writes the paper's commentator, Karin Ferant.
