SARAJEVO - Republika Srpska (RS) vice-premier Velibor Ostojic, and the
minister for education, science and culture, Nedeljko Rasula, talked in
Pale with the director of the International Film Festival of All-Slav and
Orthodox lands "Golden Knight", Nikolai Burlajev about the future
cooperation in the field of film and theatre. In the name of the RS
government, Ostojic supported an idea for one of the next Golden Knight's
festivals to be organised in the RS, as well as a proposal for RS to be a
co-organiser of the next festival expected to be opened in Moscow, on the
24th of May.
SARAJEVO - The 3rd meeting of representatives of the ministries and
commissariats for refugees and displaced persons from the former Yugoslavia,
was held in Sarajevo. A prepared working plan of action for a permanent
solution of the problem of refugees, displaced persons and returnees to the
area, was discussed at the meeting. RS minister for refugees and displaced
persons Ljubisa Vladusic, pointed out that a RS delegation has accepted the
plan as a general course of activities, with a methodology and dynamic
according to which the plan is going to be prepared by March, 1997, when it
is expected to be discussed at a UNHCR's conference in Geneva.
DOBOJ - The settling of the Muslims in the suburb RS areas is preceded by
actions on the part of IFOR for disarming the Serbs, stated a law adviser
to the Staff of the IFOR Nordic- Poland Brigade, Jorund Krosgurd. The
Nordic soldiers have, being secured and backed by US personnel and heavy
combat equipment, carried out an action of a total disarmament of the Serb
communities of Poljice and Hodzici, near Doboj,
SARAJEVO - IFOR spokesman Brett Boudreau announced that the multinational
forces personnel have found and seized a large amount of unregistered arms
and equipment in a warehouse of the Croatian Council of Defence in Orasje.
At a regular news conference in Lukavica, Boudreau specified that an IFOR
US Brigade unit confiscated and destroyed some 250 explosive devices, 700
mine fuses and 50 kg of explosives, as well as a great number of hand
rocket launchers last week.
SARAJEVO - OSCE's spokesman David Foli, confirmed that a conference on
stabilisation of peace in the Dayton B&H will take place on the 27th and
28th of November in London. At a press conference in Serb Sarajevo, Foli
assessed that the implementation of the civil part of the Dayton agreement
represents its the most difficult part. As he said, IFOR has excellently
carried out the military part of the Agreement.
THESSALONIKI - The Greek press assess as a putsch decision of the current
authorities in Serbia on annulling the results of the local elections and
not accepting the victory of opposition. The Elephterotypia cites that
students of the Belgrade's universities took part today at several-day-long
protests of the opposition in Belgrade. The Association of authors of
Serbia gave its support to the opposition as well as all of the other
academic organisations.
