DOBOJ - IFOR Nordic-Poland Brigade personnel started blocking and searching the Serbian communities of Poljice and Hodzici, in the Municipality of Doboj, says a communique issued by the Doboj Police Station. Helicopters, armoured and freight vehicles, tanks, as well as a significant number of soldiers have been put in use for this purpose. The roads running towards these communities are blocked from many directions, while the Serb police patrols are not allowed to enter the zone.

BANJALUKA - After a two-day visit to the western part of Republika Srpska (RS), the UN Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights, Elisabeth Rehn, assessed that "an improvement in the compliance with the human rights and the freedoms on all segments is notable". At a press conference in Banjaluka, Mrs. Rehn reminded us that she has met with the representatives of authorities, opposition, refugees and displaced persons and various associations, in order to learn about the state of affairs in the field of human rights.

ZVORNIK - A member of the Republic Association of Veterans from 1990, Stjepan Mitrovic, stated in Zvornik that the primary task of the Veterans' organisation is to preserve the RS within the borders in which it was created following the four-years of war. HAMBURG - The division of the former B&H has fully succeeded, but its unification has failed, assesses the German weekly Welt in an analysis published on the occasion of an anniversary of the Dayton agreement. At the same time, the Stuttgarter Zeitung concludes that all of the tasks regarding the military aspect of the Dayton agreement are carried out within the planed period, and that the international armed forces are almost limitlessly governing over the Bosnia.

HAMBURG - The German daily Junge Welt, writes that Washington gave, exactly a year after the signing of the Dayton agreement, an approval for delivering additional arms shipments to the army of Federation, thus, in stead of a general disarmament, it gave a green light for arming the Muslims. "Those in the Federation can not be happy about the birthday's present by their US guardians", maintains the Junge Welt, reminding us of Vladimir Soljic and Hasan Cengic's extracted resignations.
