SARAJEVO - RS minister of education, science and culture Nedeljko Rasula, warned that the strikes of school workers in the primary schools in Gradiska and the Serb Hercegovina "are at least leading to resolving the problem, for this is a kind of pressure which is at the moment only burdening the Government and State". "These strikes are being manifested through reducing a working hour to 30 minutes, and I, as minister, can not be on the side of school workers, for I think that this will not resolve the problem", stated Rasula in Pale.

SARAJEVO - Swiss ambassador Christian Hauswirt, presented in Pale the project of his government, in other words, a book for children by Franz Holler, the famous Swiss writer and artist, and which was illustrated by Gitter Lohenberger. Hauswirt presented the book to RS minister of education, science and culture, Nedeljko Rasula.

SARAJEVO - NATO Secretary General Javier Solana, arrived in Sarajevo, where he will attend the transfer of IFOR command to US general William Crouch. Solana came escorted by Alliances' european Supreme Commander, US general George Joulvan.

CLEVELAND - Yesterday, a rift between Washington and european members which suggested the continuation of military presence in the Dayton B&H after the mandate of IFOR troops expires, took place in the NATO alliance.

STOCKHOLM - A great number of Muslims and Croats, for which the Sweden press maintain that "were fled from Banjaluka", and who are concentrated in the southern Sweden, are organising gatherings in regional centres, in preparation for the return to RS, reports Sweden Radio.

BONN - Germany supports the extension of the UN mission in the Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Srem to one more year, stated German foreign minister Klaus Kinkel in Bonn, following the talks with the UN representative for the region, US general Jacques Klein. Kinkel pointed out that "the extension of mandate is necessary in order to secure mutual confidence between the Serb and Croat population, as well as to prevent an additional refugee drama in the region".

BRUSSELS - After checking the possibilities for preserving peace in Dayton B&H, the "Commission of Wise Persons", found by the Aspen Institute and Karnegy-Foundation, concluded that the USA-led arming the Federation of B&H is counterproductive, and is increasing the risk for renewing hostilities.
