The few coffeeshops of Kassos serve coffee and juice. The local pastry shops serve sweets ma-de with fresh honey, as well as the famous "xiliko-pites" pies made of sweet cheese, sugar and ho-ney. The few tavernas and restaurants of the island are situated at Fri, such as the restaurant "Milos" in the central square and "Kassos" in Demokratias square, where one can have fresh fish and local cuisine. One should taste the local specialties, such as "dolmades", loaf staffed with "paspara" liver pieces, rice, raisins, dried fruit and spaghetti with "sitaka" (a local cheese), butter and onions.
