    [15] U.S. CONGRESS RATIFIES SALE OF AWACS AIRCRAFTS TO TURKEY

    WASHINGTON D.C. - The U.S. Congress ratified on Tuesday the sale of four airborne warning and control system (AWACS) aircrafts to Turkey. The contract signed by Turkey and Boeing company in June worth of 1.1 billion U.S. dollars was presented to the U.S. Congress at the end of July.

    GAZIANTEP - Textile exports from Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region increased by 5 percent in the first seven months of this year. The region obtained 225 million 58 thousand U.S. dollars from its textile exports between January and July 2002.
