KELES - Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader, Deputy Prime Minister
and State Minister Devlet Bahceli said on Sunday that a new parliament
which will be formed by the nation's will can bring out a new political
government which can take important steps in Turkey-EU relations.

ANKARA - Turkey expressed deep sorrow on Sunday over the assassination
of Haci Abdul Kadir, the Vice President and Minister of Public Affairs
of the Transitional Administration of Afghanistan.

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahceli said on Sunday that
''Let's call the parliament for an extraordinary meeting on September 1
and take a decision for early elections on September 3. Let's hold the
elections on November 3.''

[06] PRIME MINISTER ECEVIT SAYS HE CAN'T WITHDRAW WITHOUT TAKING
RESULTS OF HIS GOVERNMENT'S REFORMS
ANKARA - Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit said on Sunday that he can't
digest withdrawing from the government without taking results of all
the legislation studies. The government does not have such an
intention, said Ecevit.

ANKARA - Human Rights Association (IHD) Secretary General Husnu Ondul
said that they asked for an appointment from Justice Minister Hikmet
Sami Turk to discuss the improvement of prison conditions and ending
death fasts, and that he hoped to receive a positive answer from Turk.

ISTANBUL - A Polish man was caught at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport with
2.5 kilos of heroin on Saturday.
Police found the heroin in 31-year old Zbigniew Radtke's suitcase
hidden in special compartments
