EXTRAORDINARY MEETING AFTER COMPLETION OF INITIATIVES
ANKARA - The statement released after the leaders' summit on Monday
said that the parliament would be called for an extraordinary meeting
after the completion of initiatives.

MEETING
ANKARA - Leaders of the ruling political parties said on Monday that
they agreed to hold general elections on the scheduled date and
expressed determination about this matter.
[03] FOREIGN DEBT STOCK RISES TO USD 117.5 BILLION
ANKARA - Turkey's foreign debt stock rose 2.5 billion U.S. dollars to
117.5 billion U.S. dollars when compared to end of 2001.

[07] NORMAL OPERATION OF BAKU-TBILISI-CEYHAN PROJECT FORESEEN TO START
ON FEBRUARY 23, 2005
ANKARA - The normal operation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil
pipeline is foreseen to start on February 23, 2005.

BURSA - Exports from northwestern province of Bursa in first six months

''Turkey has been facing a deadlock. Current negativity in markets

ANTALYA - A total of 1 million 834 thousand 339 foreign tourists came
to southern Antalya province in the first six months of 2002.
Meanwhile, number of foreign tourists who came to Antalya on June 30

EPHESUS
IZMIR - The ''Concert of Friendship in Two Sides of the Aegean'' which
is among the 2002 summer activities of Turkey Promotion, Research,
Democracy and Secular Formation Foundation (TULOV), will be given in
Ancient Ephesus Theatre on July 5.

ON EDUCATION AND BROADCASTING IN KURDISH WITH PARTIES OUTSIDE THE
COALITION, THE MHP WILL NOT REMAIN IN THE COALITION IN THE FOLLOWING
TERM''
ANKARA - Deputy Parliament Speaker Murat Sokmenoglu said on Monday that
if an agreement was reached on education and broadcasting in Kurdish
with parties outside the coalition, the Nationalist Movement Party
(MHP) would not remain in the coalition.

ANKARA - Christian Hoppe, the Ambassador of Denmark which has taken
over term presidency of the European Union (EU) from Spain, said on
Monday that Turkey should well-assess the positive atmosphere of the
summit meeting in Seville, and added that it was up to Turkey to set a
date for beginning of full membership negotiations at the summit
meeting to be held in Copenhagen in December of 2002.

MERSIN - Fire which broke out in Dana Island off Yesilovacik hamlet in
Silifke township of southern province of Mersin on Sunday, could not be
extinguished.

ANKARA - Treasury will hold an auction on Tuesday to sell 161-day
bonds. The value date of the bonds is July 3 and maturity is December
11, 2002.

ISTANBUL - National football team, which was ranked the third in the
World Cup, returned to Turkey on Sunday.
