[01] LABOUR MINISTERS OF EU CANDIDATE COUNTRIES MEET IN GENEVA
GENEVA - Labour and social security ministers of 13 European Union (EU)
candidate countries including Turkey met in Geneva on Thursday. Labour
and Social Security Minister Yasar Okuyan, who joined the meeting held
by the International Labour Organization (ILO), made a call for
candidate countries and said that working groups should be formed to
adjust regulations on working life with that of the EU.

MINISTER AND MINISTER OF ECONOMY
KIEV - State Minister Yilmaz Karakoyunlu met on Thursday with Ukrainian
Deputy Prime Minister and Turkey-Ukraine Joint Economic Commission
Co-President Vasyl Rohovyy and Ukrainian Minister of Economy Oleksandr
Shlapak. Karakoyunlu and Rohovyy took up cooperation opportunities in
economy and projects during their meeting
[03] TURKEY EXPECTS STATEMENTS WHICH WILL BE MADE IN SEVILLA SUMMIT TO
GO BEYOND THE STATEMENTS MADE IN LAEKEN
ANKARA - Turkey said on Thursday that it expected the statements, which
will be made in Sevilla Summit in June 21-22 in Spain, to go beyond the
statements that had been made in Laeken summit held in December last
year.

Daryal Batibay announced Thursday that Istanbul would host a meeting in
November about teaching of Ottoman history in Balkan countries.

GENEVA - Labor and Social Security Minister Yasar Okuyan who is in
Geneva to attend the International Labor Organization's (ILO)
conference had two separate meetings with labor ministers of Kazakhstan
and Azerbaijan on Thursday.

ANKARA - Democratic Left Party (DSP) Deputy Group Chairman Emrehan
Halici said that political parties defending abolishment of death
sentence, would prepare a draft bill next week.

International - JCI) European Region Chairman Kevin Cullinane has said
that the JCI had always been an apolitical organization and it would
continue to be so.

CANAKKALE - North Korean ship, which could not move in the Canakkale
