[02] TOURISM MINISTER TASAR SAYS TURKEY WILL ACHIEVE TARGET OF HOSTING
13-14 MILLION TOURISTS
ANKARA - Tourism Minister Mustafa Tasar said on Saturday that Turkey
would achieve the target of hosting 13-14 million tourists.
[03] RED CRESCENT SENDS EMERGENCY AID TO SYRIA
ANKARA - Red Crescent on Saturday sent 33 tonnes of emergency
humanitarian aid to Syria after Zeyzoun Dam collapsed on June 4.
Red Crescent issued a written statement and said convoy of Red
Cresent left for Syria on Saturday afternoon.

ALANYA - Two elderly German tourists were drowned to death on Saturday
in Alanya township of southern Antalya province.

IZMIR - Aegean Region obtained 208.2 million U.S. dollars from exports
in May 2002.

BODRUM - Ahmet Kenan Tanrikulu, the Minister of Industry and Trade,
said on Saturday that trade volume between Turkey and Greece, which had
been 868 million U.S. dollars in 2000, decreased 29 percent in 2001 to
742.4 million U.S. dollars.
