TOURISM RECORD

The number of tourists arriving at Antalya Airport has topped 41 thousand over the past 24 hours. Officials, who noted that 20 thousand 183 tourists had arrived at Antalya Airport between 11.00-24.00 hours on Saturday and 21 thousand tourists between 24.00-11.00 on Sunday, said that this number was a striking record in Turkey's tourism history.

'PEACE' FESTIVAL IN ANTALYA

The Antalya Golden Organge Film Festival is going to be observed for a 37th time this year between October 1st and 5th. This year's theme is going to be 'Peace'. Bekir Kumbul, Mayor of Antalya and Chairman of Golden Organge Culture and Art Foundation said at a press conference that this year's theme, 'Peace' would be reflected in this year's festival as 'Turkish-Greek Friendship'.

EDUCATION AT NATIONAL PARKS

Scientific Environmental Eduation at National Parks Project will be carried out this year in two terms, at Thermessos and Kackar Mountains National Parks between August 21st and September 17th. Local universities neighboring the aforementioned national parks are participaing in the project, carried out under the coordinatorship of Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). Among the topics to be studied within the framework of the project are eco-system, interaction of man and nature, national parks and eco-tourism, nature photography, and basis of ecological laws.

AUTOMOBILE SALES TO LOSE INTENSITY

Onur Baytok, Director General of Renault Mais said that they estimated the total automobile sales to have reached 480 thousand by the end of the year. Noting that the market had enlarged by 70 percent this year as compared to the previous, Baytok said that this rapid growth had stemmed from the delay in 1999 demands, and that they expected a significant plunge in automobile sales starting from September 2000, due to the reaching of the total demands to a saturation point.

TOURIST INFLOW IN ANTALYA

A total of 622 planes full of tourists landed at Antalya Airport in last two days. A total of 41,000 tourists arrived in Antalya in one day. Thus, a record was broken. A total of 262 planes landed at the airport on Saturday and 360 planes on Sunday.

VESSEL PASSES THROUGH ISTANBUL STRAIT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS

Bahamian-flagged SG Enterprise vessel passed through Istanbul Strait in two hours and put out to Marmara Sea. The vessel which was kept waiting offshore Rumeli Lighthouse due to inconvenient weather conditions and speed boat race, weighed anchor at 4.30 p.m. on Sunday. The strait was closed to traffic as the vessel started to pass through it. The vessel put out to Marmara Sea at 6.25 p.m.

ORS' BLOOD GROUP MATCHES WITH BLOOD SAMPLES ON SPOT OF STEALING

The blood group of Ihsan Ors, who was captured in eastern Agri province on charges of stealing the university entrance exam (OSS) booklets in 1999, matched with the blood samples found in the classroom from where the booklets were stolen. Ors' blood and the blood samples in the classroom were both A Rh +. Also, the finger prints found in the classromm was the print of Ors' right thumb.

DECREE ON CIVIL SERVANTS IN PRESIDENTIAL OFFICE FOR SECOND TIME

The government will submit the decree having the power of law on civil servants to President Ahmet Necdet Sezer for approval for the second time. The decree in which President's constitutional authorities were reminded, will be re-submitted to Sezer.

UMUT CASE TO START TO BE HEARD TODAY

The case regarding ''Umut'' (Hope) Operation which was launched to find the assassins of journalist-author Ugur Mumcu and illuminated 22 unsolved murders including Ahmet Taner Kislali, Muammer Aksoy and Bahriye Ucok assassinations, will start to be heard on Monday. A total of 17 suspects will stand trial in Ankara State Security Court (DGM). Capital punishment is requested for nine suspects on charges of trying to topple the constitutonal order. Imprisonment terms between four and 22 years will be requested for the other suspects.

CRUISES WITHOUT VISA

Daily ferryboat cruises without visa were launched between Aegean Marmaris township and Rhodes island. The daily cruises which will be held on Thursdays and Sundays, provide a trip to Rhodes for Turkish and Russian citizens without the necessity of taking a visa. Number of cruises will be increased if the demand increases.

BALKAN WINDS TO BLOW FOR 2 NIGHTS

The 'Open Air' concerts are going to host Bosnian composer Goran Bregovic and his band on August 15th and 16th. Bregovic and his band will take stage at 21.00 hours on these two consecutive nights and perform highlights from Bregovic's compositions for the original soundtracks of the movies 'Underground', 'La Reine Margot', 'Time of the Gypsies', and 'Arizona Dream', as well as examples from his latest album 'P.S.'.

GOLCUK TO BE THE CENTER OF ACTIVITIES

Golcuk, the Marmara town which had been the epicenter of the disastrous August 17th earthquake of 1999, and which gave the heaviest losses, will be the center of the activities which will be carried out to commemorate the disaster on its first anniversary. All the national television channels will start live broadcasts from the town starting from late hours of August 16th, including discussion forums, and debates. Golcuk had given 7 percent of its population, that is 5 thousand 383 people victim to the quake, and 5 thousand 252 others had been injured.

AMERICANS LOOK FOR 150 TURKISH PARTNERS

Many famous U.S. companies, working on the fields extending from food to electronics, are after local partners in order to enter Turkish markets. Weekly economy magazine ''Para'' promoted America's 150 giant companies chain for the investors who have money but thinking on what to do. All of these companies are famous, and all of them want to enter Turkish markets.

These companies are looking for Turkish investors to add Turkey chain to the international companies chain.

41,000 TOURISTS IN 24 HOURS

Antalya Airport experiences the most intense days of its history. Number of tourists coming to Antalya Airport is more than 41,000 in the last 24 hours. A total of 622 planes landed in the airport in the last two days. Officials said such intensity was experienced for the first time in Antalya Airport.

EYES TURNED TO ''UMUT'' OPERATION

The case, regarding Umut Operation, which was started to capture the murderers of journalist-author Ugur Mumcu, but later shed light on 22 incidents including the murders of Prof. Ahmet Taner Kislali, Prof. Muammer Aksoy, and Doc. Bahriye Ucok, will start in Ankara State Security Court (DGM) today. A total of 17 defendants will be tried at the court.

MHP LEADER WARNS FOR THE DECREE

Devlet Bahceli, Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), said the country needed stability, adding that any attitude which will lead Turkey to a crisis, should be avoided. Bahceli said the President should sign the decree having the force of law (KHK). Bahceli said the decree can wait for the signature of the President for 15 days.

IMF APPRECIATION TO THE BANKS

International Monetary Fund (IMF) said Turkish banks managed to get syndicated loan from the European markets under very appropriate conditions. IMF praised Turkish banking sector. The study, ''Finance In Developing Markets'', prepared by the IMF pointed out that Turkish banks managed to get syndicated loan from the European markets with the same costs before the Asian crisis.

POETS' CONGRESS TO BE HELD IN GREECE

The 20th World Poets' Congress will be held in Greece between August 15 and 25. The Congress will be organized by World Culture Arts Academy based in the U.S. and be directed by Tsigaridas International Relations and Press Union. Almost thousand poets and artists from 40 countries will join the Congress. Touristic excursions will be organized within the scope of the congress. These excursions will include Istanbul, Izmir, House of Virgin Mary, ancient Ephesus site, and Bodrum. Husamettin Olgun, an otorhinolaryngologist in Bursa Social Security Agency (SSK) Hospital who wrote four poem books, whose poems were translated into several languages, and who is a member of the World Culture Art Academy, will make a speech on ''Friendship and Peace In Turkish and Greek Poems'' in the Congress.

-TURKEY BECOMES CHAMPION IN BALKAN JUNIORS FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

ISTANBUL - Turkey became on Sunday the champion in Balkan Juniors Football Championship held in Greece.

Turkish national junior football team defeated Greek team by penalty kicks 5-2.

The Turkish football team will return to Istanbul on Monday.

-THEFT OF BOOKLET OF UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE EXAM

-BLOOD GROUP AND FINGER PRINT OF IHSAN ORS MATCHES

WITH THOSE FOUND ON STOLEN BOOKLET

ISTANBUL - Blood group and finger prints of Ihsan Ors were revealed to be the same with the blood group and finger prints that were found on the stolen university entrance exam booklet. Ors was earlier taken into custody with the allegations that he stole the booklet in Marmara University Theology Faculty last year.

Interrogation of Ors (19), who was taken into custody in Agri Dogubeyazit Border Gate as he was entering from Iran to Turkey, continues.

Police officials said finger print on the package of the booklet that was found in the toilet of the faculty was the same as the finger print of Ors.

Efforts are underway to determine if Ors had given the booklet to others or if others helped him.

-GIANT VESSEL'S BOSPHORUS CROSSING COMPLETE

ISTANBUL - The Bahama-flag SG Enterprise completed a problem-free crossing through the Bosphorus in 2 hours on Sunday, officials said on Monday.

The 312-meter giant vessel, which weighed anchor off the Rumeli Lighthouse at around 16.30 hours local time, completed its transit passage through the Bosphorus at 18.25 safely, in accompaniment of trailer vessels and a guide captain.

After the giant vessel's passage, the Bosphorus was re-opened to sea traffic.

The giant vessel's transit passage across tha Marmara Sea was continuing, officials said.

-KARTAL OPERATION IN BURSA

BURSA - The 'Kartal' (Eagle) Operation, launched against fictitious exporters by the Bursa Security Department are being continued, officials said on Monday.

The interrogations of the persons detained within the framework of the operations wer underway. Among those, who were being interrogated were also Mahir Turkoglu, Executive Board Director of Uludag Textile, Clothing, and Foreign Trade Inc., and Levent Tamer, Executive Board Member of this same company, Bursa Securtiy Department officials said.

Bursa Police Chief Aydin Genc told the A.A correspondent that the operations were being continued unabated, and that he would make a statement giving 'limited' information to the press later on Monday.

In response to a question if allegations to the effect that 9 persons had so far been detained within the framework of the operations, Genc said ''The toll is gradually increasing.''

-SHARE OF TEXTILE INCREASES IN EXPORTATION IN GAP REGION

GAZIANTEP - Share of textile increases every day in exportation in Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region. Agricultural products had an important share in the region in the past.

According to the data of Southeastern Anatolia Exporters Union, textile, which has 11 percent share in total regional exportation in 1990, reached 52 percent at the end of 1999.

Textile exportation from the region, which was 29,850 million U.S. dollars, reached to 303,238 million U.S. dollars at the end of 1999.

Textile exportation had a stable increase as the Middle East and Gulf countries, which are traditional markets and where traditional agricultural products were exported, were lost following Gulf Crisis and the embargo imposed on Iraq. Entrepreneurs began to search for other fields following this development which put the regional industry into a difficult situation.

The entrepreneurs of the region, considering the customs union process, focused on textile investments and GAP region became the most important centers of the country in textile.

Membership to the European Union (EU), which was targeted with the Customs Union, determined the route of the regional investors.

-ANKARA DGM STARTS TO HEAR ''UMUT'' OPERATION CASE

ANKARA - The Ankara State Security Court (DGM) started on Monday to hear the ''Umut'' (Hope) operation case.

The Ankara DGM started to try 17 suspects, 15 of whom are kept in prison, on charges of being involved in 22 incidents including the assassinations of Ugur Mumcu, Ahmet Taner Kislali, Muammer Aksoy and Bahriye Ucok.

A total of 15 suspects, lawyers of suspects, and intervenor lawyers participated in today's court session.

The indictment of the case requests capital punishment for suspects Ferhan Ozmen, Necdet Yuksel, Hakki Selcuk Sanli, Yusuf Karakus, Muzaffer Dagdeviren, Abdulhamit Celik, Fatih Aydin, Hasan Kilik and Mehmet Sahin on charges of trying to topple the constitutional order.

The indictment requests imprisonment terms not less than 22 and a half years for suspects Mehmet Ali Tekin and Talip Ozcelik on charges of forming armed gangs against the security of the state while requested imprisonment terms between 15 years and 22 and a half years for suspects Mehmet Kasap, Mehmet Gurova, Adil Aydin and Murat Nazli on charges of being members of an illegal organization.

Also, the indictment requests imprisonment terms between four and a half years and seven and a half years for suspects Arif Tari and Musa Koca on charges of aiding and abetting an illegal organization.

-TRANSPORTATION MINISTER OKSUZ DUE IN TRNC

LEFKOSA - Transportation Minister Enis Oksuz will come to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Tuesday.

Oksuz, accompanied by a delegation including Dursun Dagasan, the General Director of Postal Service, will join the inauguration of Postal Service Automation Center in TRNC.

Enis Oksuz will also hold some official contacts.

TRNC President Rauf Denktas will also attend the inauguration.

Oksuz will depart from TRNC on Wednesday.

-WIND ENERGY IN TURKEY

ANKARA - Environment Ministry said on Monday that Turkey's usable wind energy potential was approximately 10,000 megawatt, and called on the country not to be turned into a ''wind technology garbage dump,'' with the investments in this field.

The ministry made a study on wind energy, which is one of the clean energy resources. Pointing out that importance which Turkey carried out due to wind energy, the study stressed the issues that should be considered with this type of energy.

According to the measurement results made by Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and private sector, in regions which are appropriate to 25 percent and more capacity factor, usable wind energy potential was nearly 10,000 megawatt.

Pointing out that wind energy technology in the world developed rapidly, the study said efforts and investments for the wind energy were made in the recent 3,5 years.

''It is a great advantage that investments in our country coincides with the period when wind technology develops. Yet, we should refrain from getting old wind turbines of other countries and turn our country into a wind technology garbage dump,'' it said.

The study said plans were underway to meet two percent of Turkey's installed power capacity from the wind energy till the year 2005.

The study said applications to Energy and Natural Resources Ministry for the wind power plant with build-operate-transfer model reached to 31.

-SEVEN WONDERS OF WORLD TO BE RE-CHOSEN THROUGH INTERNET

NEW YORK - Seven wonders of the world will be re-chosen through the internet.

Hundreds of people can join the voting held to chose the seven wonders of the world.

Those who want to vote for the candidates should visit ''www.new7wonders.com'' site.

The Hagia Sophia Museum which is situated in Istanbul is among the candidates.

The voting held by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and an institution named ''Seven Wonders of the World Project'' targets at bringing to daylight which of the artifacts constructed in the last two milleniums deserve to become new wonders of the world.

The ''World Cultural Heritage Center'' bound to the UNESCO chose the constructions which deserved to join the competition.

The Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal in India, the Potala Palace in Lhasa, the Old City of Sanaa, Timbuktu, the Hagia Sophia, the Kremlin and Red Square, the Roman Colosseum, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Doges' Palace, the Aachen Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, the Versaille Palace and Park, Alhambra, the Statue of Liberty, the Pyramids at Chitchenitza, and the Statues of Easter Islands are the seven wonders candidates.

The constructions which were shown as candidates by public demand are Sydney Opera House, the Church of La Sagrada Familia, the Empire State Building, and the Golden Gate Bridge.

People can vote for these constructions until September 30.

The seven wonders of the Ancient World are the Great Pyramid of Egypt, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassos, the Colossus of Rhodes, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria.

The Temple of Artemis is situated in Aegean Efes township and the Mausoleum at Halicarnossus is in Aegean Bodrum township.

-ACTRESS OZIPEK TO BE LAID TO REST ON WEDNESDAY

ISTANBUL - Guzin Ozipek, a theatre player and actress who died on Saturday, will be laid to rest on Wednesday.

A ceremony will be held in Istanbul State Theatres' Auditorium in Taksim district of Istanbul at 11.00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Following this ceremony, Ozipek will be laid to rest in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.

-POLICE SEIZE 30 KG HEROIN IN VAN

VAN - Police seized on Monday 30 kilograms of heroin in eastern Van province.

Sources said that police, acting on a tep-off, confiscated 30.1 kilograms of heroin, 30 litres of acid anhydride and 500 kilograms of sodium carbonate buried in Beyuzumu village.

The sources noted that in the meantime, gendarme forces seized 250 marijuana plants cultivated in a field in Ercis township.

The gendarme forces set fire the marijuana plants and took into custody the owner of the field, the sources added.

-90 IRAQIS AND 26 AFGHANS CAUGHT IN VAN

VAN - Security forces caught 90 Iraqis and 26 Afghans in Van on Monday after they entered the country illegally.

Van Security Directorate's teams stopped a truck in Van city center and found 22 Iraqis hidden in the truck.

In a separate operation, police caught 66 Iraqis and 14 Afghans in the city who had no passports.

Police also found two Iraqis and 12 Afghans in a minibus at the 23rd kilometer of Ercis-Adilcevaz highway.

The immigrants will be extradited once their legal procedures are completed.

-ANKARA DGM STARTS TO HEAR ''UMUT'' OPERATION CASE (2)

ANKARA - The suspects in the ''Umut Operation'' case were identified at the court session which is being heard on Monday.

The Ankara State Security Court (DGM) No. 2 delegation accepted the relatives of Ugur Mumcu, Bahriye Ucok, Ahmet Taner Kıslalı and Muammer Aksoy to attend the court sessions as ''intervenors.''

The suspects told the court that they are tradesmen and they didn't have previous conviction.

Ferhan Ozmen, who is claimed as the suspect of many murders particularly Ugur Mumcu, the famous journalist and writer, said that he is married with three children and he is a tradesman.

Upon a question of the chief judge Huseyin Eken, Ozmen said that he didn't have any previous conviction, adding his address is Aydınlıkevler district of Ankara.

The other suspect Necdet Yuksel said that he was born in central Sivas province in 1967, adding he is a sports teacher.

The other suspects Hasan Kılıc, Mehmet Ali Tekin, Yusuf Karakus, Abdulhamit Celik, Muzaffer Dagdeviren, Fatih Aydın, Mehmet Sahin, Galip Ozcelik, Arif Tarı, Hakkı Selcuk Sanlı, Mehmet Kasap, Mehmet Gurova, Musa Koca and Murat Nazlı were also identified by the court.

Mustafa Akcay, the lawyer of the suspects Hasan Kılıc, Mehmet Ali Tekin, Abdulhamit Celik, Yusuf Karakus and Mehmet Sahin said that his clients were captured as the suspects of Ugur Mumcu assassination, but the indictment pointed out that they were not connected with the murder and they were accused of being member of ''Selam Tevhid'' organization. The crimes that was attributed to his clients were not connected with the activities of the organization of ''Jerusalem Organization,'' claimed the lawyer.

The lawyer requested the court to give up hearing the case as it is not authorized to do so and send it to Istanbul State Security Court (DGM).

Hamza Keles, the Prosecutor of Ankara State Security Court (DGM) said that the organization does not only act in Istanbul, but also in Ankara, adding the mentioned suspects confessed that they met with Ferhan Ozmen.

Huseyin Eken, the chief judge rejected the request of the lawyer.

Later Hamza Keles, the Prosecutor started to read out the indictment.

Strict security measures have been taken in front of the Ankara DGM building due to the case.

-SECURITY FORCES CAPTURE 134 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

EDIRNE - Gendarme teams intercepted 134 foreigners who tried to illegally proceed to Greece from northwestern Edirne province in last three days.

Sources said on Monday that during their controls in Meric, Enez, Ipsala and Uzunkopru townships of Edirne, gendarme teams captured 134 foreigners of Iranian, Iraqi, Palestinian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Azerbaijani, Indian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Ghanaian and Somalian origin.

In their interrogation, those 134 foreigners said that they wanted to proceed to Greece.

Officials said those illegal immigrants would be deported.

-ECEVIT SAYS LEGAL EXPLANATION REGARDING KHK TO BE FINISHED SOON

ANKARA - Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit told reporters on Monday that the legal explanation regarding presentation of the decree having the power of law (KHK) for the second time to the President is about to be completed.

Ecevit, upon leaving the Prime Ministry Headquarters answered reporters questions. Ecevit refrained from responding when he was asked if he will have a meeting with President Ahmet Necdet Sezer on Monday or not.

His secretary Zeynel Yesilay said ''it will be announced when a meeting is scheduled.''

-PRIVATIZATION OF VAKIFBANK

ANKARA - State Minister Yuksel Yalova in charge of Privatization said on Monday that Vakifbank would totally be a private bank after the sales of its Group A shares if the Council of Ministers decided to sell those shares.

Responding to a news item published in some newspapers the same day which said that Vakifbank would be privatized but remain as a public bank, Yalova recalled that the Council of Ministers was authorized in the sale of 55 percent Group A shares of Vakifbank.

State Minister Yalova said that Vakifbank became a private bank in case the Council of Ministers decided to sell all Group A shares.

-GIANT SHIP ENTERPRISE SETS SAIL IN AEGEAN

CANAKKALE - The ''S.G. Enterprise'' the Bahamian flagged giant ship which is 312 meters long, set sail in Aegean Sea by passing through the Canakkale Strait.

After passing through the Istanbul Strait, Enterprise was kept waiting in Inceburun region in the Marmara Sea due to the busy tanker traffic in the Canakkale Strait. Permission was given to the ship at 10.00 local time this morning to pass through the Canakkale Strait.

The ship which entered the Canakkale Strait, was accompanied by five tugboats, one hawser boat and one fire boat in its passage which lasted 2 hours and 40 minutes.

The traffic in the Canakkale Strait was closed to sea traffic in both ways during the passage.

-ANKARA DGM STARTS TO HEAR ''UMUT'' OPERATION CASE (3)

ANTALYA - The suspects started reading out their defenses at the court hearing regarding the Umut operation which was started to find the murderers of journalist-writer Ugur Mumcu, and later covered 22 incidents including killings of Prof. Muammer Aksoy and Dr. Bahriye Ucok.

Ferhan Ozmen who is the suspect of many murders including Ugur Mumcu claimed that he was interrogated for eight days at the police station and was exposed to heavy torture. Ozmen noted that he suffered psychological disorders because of the mental anguish of the torture. ''An indictment came to our ward. Others had the chance to examine it, but I couldn't. I hired my lawyer four or five days ago. I could not prepare my defense,'' he said and asked the court to allow him extra time until the next hearing.

Other suspect Necdet Yuksel also claimed that he was tortured at the police station. He said he received the indictment late and did not have the time to prepare his defense. Yuksel also asked for extra time from the court. When reminded that he confessed his crimes during earlier interrogations, Yuksel said he will ''make the necessary explanation during his defense.''

Hakki Selcuk Sanli who read out his defense said he saw a police car near his house three days before he was arrested but he was not suspicious of the situation because he did not commit any crimes. One day, he came home and could not open the door. Then, three policemen and one policewoman opened the door to him. Later, he found out that the policemen had been waiting for him for one day in the house together with his wife of foreign origin and his one child.

During his interrogation at the police station, Sanli said he was asked to explain how he killed Ugur Mumcu and Ahmet Taner Kislali. He claimed that the policemen who were not satisfied with his answers, tortured him. ''Since I could not stand the torture, I signed the statement which was brought to me,'' he said.

The suspect Sanlı claimed that the indictment does not have a base, adding the police officials deceived the prosecutor who filed the suit.

Sanlı claimed that he does not know Isa Polat and Talip Ozcelik.

Moreover, Sanlı alleged that he is not a member of any illegal organization, adding he met with Ferhan Ozmen while working in Samil Dagıtım Inc. in 1979.

Noting that he met with Hasan Kılıc when he was studying in the faculty of law, the suspect Sanlı added that the claims saying that they held meetings about the regime in Iran with Sanlı, Kılıc and Ozmen are not true.

Sanlı noted that his wife and Ferhan Ozmen's wife are relatives, adding he often went to Iran and one day Ozmen wanted to go to Iran with him.

They went to Iran with Ozmen, Sanlı noted and added that they didn't meet with anybody in Iran.

''The police who interrogated us found the names of 'Jerusalem Warriors,' they also said we are members of it, and they found the names of all these terrorist organizations.''

Huseyin Eken, the chief judge asked Sanlı how did he know the Iranians he mentioned. Sanlı alleged that he does not know them and their appearance were described by the police.

''You say that you were tortured at police station. But why didn't you tell the truth to the prosecutor and the judge?'' asked the chief judge to Sanlı who said that ''DGM Prosecutor Chief Judge Cevdet Volkan took my testimony. I wish he were here now. As I was afraid, I told him that I was not tortured. Even now I don't feel secure.''

''The indictment notes that you were involved in the bomb attack staged between the Saudi American Bank building and Kızılırmak Automotive Industry building in Sisli district of Istanbul in 1988. What do say about that?'' asked the chief judge.

''I didn't stage any bomb attack. The police wrote that I was involved in four bomb attacks, but they later changed it and decreased the number to one,'' the suspect claimed.

The judge Huseyin Eken said he gave a break to the court session to continue in the afternoon.
