[01] TURKEY CONDEMNS STATEMENTS OF SCHRODER AND D'ALEMAANKARA, Nov 28 (A.A) - Turkey on Friday condemned the attitude of German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder and Italian Prime Minister Massimmo D'Alema who claimed that ''there is a Kurdish problem in Turkey'' and who revealed their intentions to start an initiative for the solution of this so-called problem.Foreign Ministry statement said German Chancellor and Italian Prime Minister expressed their views again for the judgment of chief of separatist terrorist organization in front of a private court and added that ''it is understood that these two Prime Ministers revaled unacceptable political intentions and tendencies.'' The statement said ''the idea of a conference, which was put forward within this framework, is only a distortion of the issue. This initiative is totally vain and baseless.'' The statement said it was understood clearly that Germany would not call for the extradition of Abdullah Ocalan, chief terrorist, and recalled that extradition file which Turkey prepared has not reached to Italian authorities. The statement said ''such kind of seaches which have political aims contradict with the principle of priority of law.'' [02] PRIME MINISTER YILMAZ RESPONDS TO STATEMENTS OF SCHRODER AND D'ALEMAANKARA, Nov 28 (A.A) - Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz said on Friday that Turkey would not allow the ones who aim at making the separatist terrorist PKK organization political.Responding to the questions of reporters on the issue Yilmaz evaluated the joint statement issued by German Chancellor and Italian Prime Minister regarding judgment of Abdullah Ocalan, chief of separatist terrorist organization, in an international court. Yilmaz said ''our attitude to this end is very clear. We defend that he should be judged in normal courts due to the crimes he committed. Germany once again reiterated that he would not call for his extradition. This is an unfortunate statement. There is no change in our opinions. Turkey suffered a lot from the activities of the separatist terrorist organization. He should be judged in Turkey.'' Yilmaz pointed out that ''despite all the selfish attitudes of European countries, I don't think this person, who is responsible for the killings of 30,000 people, will be released. What has to be done is that his extradition to Turkey.'' Yilmaz said ''Turkey will not allow the ones who will be in an effort to make separatist terrorist organization political. We will not let the formation of this action as if these murders were not committed. The attitude of the US is very positive. We are closely covering the issue.'' [03] TRNC'S REACTION TO ITALY - SCIENTISTS EXPRESS CONCERN OVER ITALY'S ATTITUTELEFKOSA, Nov 28 (A.A) - Scientists participating at the Second International Cyprus Researches Congress at the Eastern Mediterranean University (DAU) issued a joint announcement on Friday and expressed concern over Italy's supporting attitude towards Abdullah Ocalan, the chief of separatist terrorist organization PKK who was captured in Italy two weeks ago.In the document signed by 92 scientists and writers from 14 countries including Italy, it was stressed, ''We are worried about Italy's attitude towards a terrorist whose bloody actions have been recognized by international documents and forums. Whole world know that Ocalan claimed thousands of innocent lives, and such a person is welcomed as a guest by Italy.'' [04] BAKU-CEYHAN PROJECT - DEMIREL SENDS A MESSAGE TO AZERI PRESIDENT ALIEVBAKU, Nov 28 (A.A) - President Suleyman Demirel sent a message to Haydar Aliev, Azeri President, related with Baku-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline which is thought for the transportation of Caspian oil.Yurdakul Yigitguden, Undersecretary of Energy and Natural Resouces Ministry, met with Aliev and handed in Demirel's message. Aliev, speaking during the meeting, said the consortium claimed that the cost of the Baku-Ceyhan project was very high and added that real cost of the project should be determined and that it should be proved with documents that the project is appropriate by economic means. Recalling that there were several ones who try to prove that the project was not attractive, Aliev said ''I am not sharing the views of the ones who defend that this project is not beneficial. Nobody would want realization of a project which is not attractive economically.'' Aliev said contacts of Ilham Aliev, his son, who acts as the Deputy Chairman of state run oil company SOCAR, in the US, proved that Baku-Ceyhan project will be realized. Stressing that Azerbaijan would not change its attitude on the issue, Aliev said cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan should be strengthened to this end. Aliev said he was briefed about the ongoing meetings of the study-groups of the two countries in Istanbul adding that new searches take place in this field. [05] TURKISH-FRENCH STRATEGIC MEETING - FRENCH DELEGATION VISITS THE TAIANKARA, Nov 28 (A.A) - The members of the French delegation who are in Turkey for the second Turkish-French Strategical meeting between Foreign Ministry Strategical Researches Center and the French International Affairs and Strategical Institude (IRIS), visited on Friday the Tusas Aero-Space Industry (TAI).Delegation formed by Jean Bernard Ouvrieu, Special Representative of French Defense Ministry, and high-level officials from the French Defense Ministry, made observations at the production line for the ''Cougar'' helicopters. Turkey and France have reached a concensus of opinion on improving the strategical cooperation between the two countries in the fields of helicopter production and marketing helicopters to the third countries. The agreements envisaging the production of Cougar helicopter in Turkey, was signed by the EUROTAI and the French Undersecretariat of Defense Industry in February 1997. [06] PRESIDENT DEMIREL EXPRESSES SORROW AT HELICOPTER ACCIDENT IN CUKURCA COUNTY OF HAKKARI PROVINCEBURSA, Nov 28 (A.A) - President Suleyman Demirel who came to Bursa Province in order to attend several opening ceremonies, expressed sorrow at the helicopter accident in Cukurca County of Hakkari Province, on Saturday.Demirel has expressed condolences to the Turkish Armed Forces and the relatives of those who were killed at the accident. A military helicopter returning from a mission, crashed near Cukurca County of Hakkari Province, killing 17 soldiers on board. [07] SYRIA CREATES DIFFUCULTIES IN IMPLEMENTATION OF ADANA AGREEMENTANKARA, Nov 28 (A.A) - Syria, which expelled chief of separatist terrorist PKK organization from this country, closed ''crisis with Turkey'' file and thus created diffuculties in implementation of commitments of Adana agreement.Syria had to expell chief of separatist terrorist organization from this country upon pressures coming from Turkey and tension between Turkey and Syria was softened with Adana agreement. Yet, there are problems in implementation of the agreement in detail due to the attitude of Syria. Diplomacy circles said crisis between Turkey and Syria was ended following the expel of chief terrorist from this country adding that ''Syria now says, we have sent Ocalan and fulfiled what you have wanted'' and closed this file. A source from Arab diplomacy circle told A.A correspondent that ''Syria, even if had to give a concession with the expelling of Ocalan, will not present everything to Turkey in a golden plate. There are not spring winds blowing between Turkey and Syria.'' Meanwhile, it was also reported that Turkey will call for the extradition of a separatist terrorist from Syria and that this will create a problem. There is not an agreement between Turkey and Syria regarding the extradition of criminals. Turkey has to apply to Syria with the evidences and court decision that this person is guilty. Diplomatic circles say Turkish-Syrian-Lebanon tripartite security meeting, foreseen in Adana agreement, was a distant possibility. It was reported that Lebanon has not responded to Turkey's call yet. [08] FOREIGN MINISTRY SPECIAL DIPLOMATIC COURIERS TAKE EXTRADITION FILE TO ITALYISTANBUL, Nov 28 (A.A) - Mehmet Gunday, Foreign Ministry Consulate Affairs official and Haldun Otman, Foreign Ministry Information Department Chairman, on Saturday took a file regarding extradition of Abdullah Ocalan, chief of separatist terrorist organization, to Italy.Speaking at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, Otman said the extradition file is composed of the crimes Ocalan has committed so far and documents, information, pictures and video tapes related with these crimes. Otman also said in the file there was a letter of Hasan Denizkurdu, Minister of Justice, which he wrote to Italian Justice Minister. Otman said the demand for extradition was based on the provisions of ''European Agreement Related with Extradition of Criminals'' dated 1957 and ''Struggle Against Terrorism European Convention'' dated 1977. [09] EXPERTS ON TERRORISM: - ''TERRORISM BECOMES AN INDUSTRY'' - ''INTOLERANCE, BRUTALITY AND FONDNESS FOR AUTHORITY ARE CHARACTERISTICS OF TERRORISTS'' - ''TERRORIST USE THE METHODS OF TAKING HOSTAGE, HIJACKING, SABOTAGE, ASSASINATION AND THREAT''ANKARA, Nov 28 (A.A) - International experts on terrorism said on Saturday that the terrorism became an industry.Experts defined joint characteristics of the terrorists as the intolerance, dogmatism, brutality and fondness for authority, noting that most of terrorists live in a imaginary battle where countless people support them. Terrorists generally use the methods of taking hostage, sabotage, hijacking, assasination, threat and bombing. James Adams pointed out in his book named as ''The Finance of Terrorism'' that most of the terrorists believes in rightfulness of their cases. Adams noted that fear and immorality hold a terrorist organization together. Terrorists who can even kill their own brothers and sisters, admit the organization as their real family. Terrorists obtain weapons from the markets in the regions having lack of authority. Terrorism refuses the policy and aims at making civilization unworkable. Experts describe the terrorist actions as; -Efforts aiming at changing the administration, -Damaging public services and enterprises, -Damaging international relations, -Assasinations on head of states of government officials, -Destroying public buildings, vehicles and the communication, -Infecting contagious diseases or polluting food and water There are seven countries supporting terrorism according to the US sources. These are Iraq, Iran, Libya, Syria, Sudan, Cuba and Northern Korea. Iran is the most dangerous supporter of the terrorism. Media of mass communication has an important role on terrorism. Television and radio channels and newspapers give large place to the bloody terrorist actions, so terrorist organization succeed in promoting their actions against humanity. A terrorist organization has different financial sources such as bank robbery, collecting donations, gamling, night clubs and ransoms. [10] PRESIDENT DEMIREL: ''THERE IS NOT A REQUIREMENT TO BRING 11 POLITICAL PARTIES TOGETHER''BOLU, Nov 28 (A.A) - President Suleyman Demirel said on Saturday he will be in an effort to provide the establishment of a government in a few days by evaluating what political party leaders have told him and the problems he has seen in the agenda of the country.Demirel said ''there is a government in Turkey now and it should be on duty till another one is established'' adding that he has called on the existing government to provide everything to be done properly. When recalled that he listened to the views of political party leaders and when asked about his impressions, Demirel said he talked to 11 party representatives adding that ''if those 11 have same ideas, than there would not be 11 parties.'' When asked if he would talk to leaders again Demirel said ''yes, it may be.'' [11] PRESIDENT DEMIREL AND PRIME MINISTER YILMAZ ATTEND OPENING CEREMONY OF OVAAKCA NATURAL GAS POWER STATIONBURSA, Nov 28 (A.A) - President Suleyman Demirel and Premier Mesut Yilmaz attended at the opening ceremony of the Ovaakca Natural Gas Combined Cycling Power Station in Bursa Province, on Saturday.Addressing the opening ceremony, President Demirel thanked every one contributing efforts for the construction of the power station. The power station which was constructed by the consortium of the Turkish and Japanese companies, costed 512 million US Dollars. The power station will produce electricity of 9.8 billion kilowatt-hour annually and meet 10 percent of Turkey's electricity need. Meanwhile the power station will create job oportunities to 50 thousand people. [12] THE OSCE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS TO CONVENE IN OSLOANKARA, Nov 28 (A.A) - The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Council of Ministers will convene in Oslo, the capital of Norway, between 2 and 3 December, it was reported on Saturday.The Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that a delegation headed by Ismail Cem, the Foreign Minister, will participate at the meetings. The date of the next OSCE summit which will be held in Istanbul, will be determined at the meetings. The heads of states and governments of 54 member countries will come together at the summit in Istanbul in 1999. The OSCE Council of Ministers is formed by the foreign ministers of the 54 member states.
