STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY
Visit by Prime Minister Simitis of Greece
President Clinton has invited Greek Prime Minister Constantine
Simitis to Washington for a working visit on April 9. Prime Minister
Simitis has accepted the invitation. This will be the first meeting
between the President and the new Greek Prime Minister. The visit
will provide an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss a wide
range of bilateral and regional issues and to reaffirm the warm
relations that exist between our two governments, reflecting the
special ties of kinship that exist between our two peoples.
