Forex fixing: usd=226.700(-5.58% from 12-30-94) dem=161.400(4.06% "), jpy=267.840(11.07% ") -Bank of Greece dropped its intervention rate in o/n to 15.60%. -Athens bourse fined member broker, Hellenic American with 10 mil drs for short selling(which is not allowed here in Athens). This firm is suspended from trading for a week. -Fin Min statistics says two new businesses spring up for everyone closing down. -Small business is leaving the market. In the past five years 270,000 businesses have shut down as the recession and successive tax measures have become a real burden. -Greek Central bank offered to drain 100 bil drs in one-month depos and ended at weighted aaverage rate of 15.35% down from16.20 % of last Friday.
