Two Post Doctoral Positions available in Plant Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at MAICH (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania)

Two postdoctoral positions are available at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Crete, Greece in the lab of Dr P. Kalaitzis at the Dept of Horticultural Genetics & Biotechnology for 2 years. The positions are for a research project ARISTEIA II on the functional characterization of tomato fruit prolyl 4 hydroxylases. Specifically, the project aims towards the identification of substrate proteins of tomato fruit prolyl 4 hydroxylases.

A) The first position requires experience in immunoprecipitation, pull down assays etc.

B) The second position requires experience in the Yeast Two Hybrid assays etc.

There are already RNAi and overexpression lines of several tomato P4H genes with very interesting phenotypes which are already under evaluation. Experience in plant biochemistry and molecular biology are highly desirable.
